Ramon “Absoloot” Robinson is an independent hip-hop artist who was born in northern California. He concentrates on creating positive music which often comes with a political twist and working with young people through non-profit organizations like Men 2 Boys Mentoring and Life Sports Fitness. He currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his wife Jackie and their young daughter. Ramon’s primary job (if you could call it that) is one that he always dreamed of. It allows him the freedom to make music wherever and whenever he chooses. His ability to create music and work with young people is nothing short of a dream come true and he has been using it with great impact in the community. Helping steer our youth in a positive direction. He is also an ambassador for Life Sports Fitness and works closely with AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse). As a kid, Ramon’s love for comic books has turned into an obsession for creating his own. A project that merely started out as lyric books to accompany the music, changed given the enormous amount of positive feedback. With this new found success, he decided to expand on the idea and create full stories for each song, which turned into comic books. This hobby has since developed with Life Sports Fitness and now his books focus on social issues in the hope of creating much-needed dialogue on matters such as race, bullying, domestic violence and so on. When he has time to himself, Ramon spends every free moment writing ideas for new books or music, loves traveling and spends a lot of time speaking to youth groups. As far as the future is concerned, Ramon believes in the Frederick Douglas quote – ‘it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men’ and hopes that he can continue to work with young people and inspire them to follow their dreams and passions.
