Serena Pergola is a University of Michigan alumni. She is a passionate former gymnast of 15 years and she is constantly exploring the world of mental health awareness and sexual assault awareness and prevention. In her first book, The Silver Lining, she explores the culture of gymnastics and how it can be changed for the better. She also dives into the world of therapy and coping mechanisms. Her passion drives her to empower others to find their silver lining just as she found her own. She aims to spread a sense of community and confidence to those who feel as alone and worthless as she did on her darkest days throughout her mental health journey. Serena is an active individual who spends a lot of time with her family and friends and always enjoys a night of wine, cheese and movies. She is obsessed with the TV show Friends and adores puppies (especially maltipoos and goldendoodles). She hopes to work one day for a non-profit that supports survivors through their journey of warrior-ship. "Change is possible if we all band together and BELIEVE in one another. No survivor should ever go unheard. Every voice is important and worthy of being heard. Speak your truth. No one should ever have to feel embarrassed that #MeToo applies to me too." -Serena Pergola
