Stephen Phillip Monteiro spent over 20 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service. He is an expert in security, forensics, intelligence, and bioterrorism and was a member of the elite Presidential Protective Division at the White House. Stephen was appointed as the Special Agent in Charge and Director of the Forensic Crime Laboratory for the Secret Service, where he provided leadership to 140 of the best forensic scientists and technicians in the country. He also served as a Congressional Fellow in the 104th Congress, in both the House and Senate. After his federal career, Stephen served in a number of leadership positions in the private sector. He was a Senior Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton and a Senior Vice President with PotomacWave Consulting. He was a Senior Advisor to the Director of Weapons of Mass Destruction Intelligence for the DHS focusing on bioterrorism where he received the Director of National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation for his work on Iraqi scientists. Stephen is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was trained in cryptology, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, ASIS, and the Association of Former Agents of the Secret Service. He holds a BS in Public Administration from Franklin Pierce University and an MS in Management from Johns Hopkins University. He has appeared on episodes of Forensic Files, the National Geographic Channel, America’s Book of Secrets on the History Channel, and local television newscasts. Stephen and his wife Carmela live in the beautiful town of Annapolis. They are the proud parents of two wonderful sons, Ryan and Jared. They love to travel and thoroughly enjoy spending time with their four beautiful grandchildren and their rescue dog “Beans”.
