About this listen
Vacation romances weren't supposed to last. That's why they were a thing.
Maid of honor Reagan Newhart arrives in Charleston only to learn the wedding party is delayed for three whole days. On the bride's advice, she decides it's time to let loose.
Russell Gannon, a regular to Charleston, sees a stunning young woman who grabs his attention. They start an affair that lasts until her friends arrive - and they discover they're in town for the same wedding, that of his estranged daughter. As the star-crossed lovers dive for cover, a vicious ex-wife, entitled bride, and plenty of self-doubt threaten to derail what could be true love.
Can they commit to something fleeting and defy the odds to capture their happily ever after?

I can't help but smile...this was cute!
This is primarily an age-gap romance, 20 years to be exact. There was also a twist of a Best Friend's Father/ Daughter's Best friend trope here.
The story centres around our Heroine, Reagan, and our Hero, Russell who meet at a hotel, not realising that they are actually here for the same wedding event and both have connections to the bride. Of course as this a romance, our characters fall for each other. But once they find out their connection, can their relationship stand the test?
Age-gap romance are usually not my thing. However, I think the author pulled it off really well here. The age-gap is presented in a way that isn't weird, and is believable that they would in fact have things in common and fall for each other. Reagan is also presented as strong, mature, with a career of her own, and not needing rescuing from Russell. I also loved how we got to see Russell acknowledge and take accountability for his past mistakes and work through those to be a better partner for Reagan.
I also loved the examination of how complex Russell's relationship with his daughter was. I honestly understood why she acted the way she acted. But I also loved how that plotline was handled and concluded.
Side-note* Russell's ex was messy as hell and I was here for it lol.
Although the story spans only 10 days, the way in which the author wrote and structured the story (with each chapter covering each day), It meant we were able to spend more time on page with the characters and saw them truly get to know each other. This added to the overall believability of the story/romance.
I forgot to add that '10 Days' is part of the 'New South' Series of standalone book. It can truly be read as a standalone (just like any of the other books of the series), as there are no overlapping characters / events.
Overall, this book was quite enjoyable (in fact, the entire series was) and I highly recommend it.

Romance
I enjoyed listening to Sophie Wilson
This is a great listen an older man younger woman romance. A woman is stuck in a hotel, waiting for a wedding to start and ends up falling for the father of the bride. There is instant attraction, steamy sex and a fair amount of angst.

Older man, younger women.
An enjoyable book. Older man younger woman. When the bride finds out that the main people in her wedding party hooked up stuff gets crazy. Little angst. HEA. Standalone. I liked the characters and the narration was good. I recommend this book.
