About this listen
This allegory about humanity's exploration of the universe, and the universe's reaction to humanity, was the basis for director Stanley Kubrick's immortal film, and lives on as a hallmark achievement in storytelling.

an intriguing read
this title; although slow to start, is quite the easy read, I have always been a fan of Science Fiction and Thriller type stories, that said; the one thing I'd change is shorten the introduction, have the cliffnotes version of the intro and get the listener straight into the book. other than that an all round good title

Absolutely one to read for the sci-fi heads!
This audio books explains a lot of things from the movie that were otherwise a bit of a mystery, for me anyway. Also helps sew together question marks from "Interstellar". The intro from one of the directors and the narration just made this whole book an amazing experience.

Classic sci-fi
Explains more than the film. A great story about man's place in the universe. if you've only seen the film a must listen.

Super good book................
Well the books a classic, old school sci-fi. I enjoyed from start to finish. Narrator Dick Hill does a good job. The books a tad funny in places, it shows it age. But its still a little gem. books about 6 hours 20 maybe, Arthur c Clarke does a 15 minutes intro to the book giving some background. I bought the book as part of a 2 for 1 package and thought it worth the money..

Suspend your lack of disbelief
Some books I have listened to have referred to 2001 as being a masterpiece of science fiction, I have to say I found it difficult to suspend my disbelief on this one.
But can see where so many science fiction books get some of their ideas from.
The narration was good.

Mind Blown
Haven't seen the movie. Never listened to or read Arthur C. Clarke before now. I thoroughly enjoyed it, from beginning to end. The closing chapters are a head trip! The interview at the beginning is also interesting. Would recommend to anyone remotely interested in science, astronomy & space exploration.
