About this listen

Newly recorded for the 10th anniversary of A Court of Thorns and Roses

The 10th anniversary edition recording of the first book in the #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas, who handpicked narrator and friend Elizabeth Evans to bring these characters to life due to her intimate understanding of Sarah’s storytelling

The sexy, action-packed first book in the #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

At least, he’s not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.

There are some partnerships between an author and a narrator that work so well, they become inseparable from one another, at least to a listener like me who needs audio performances. Just some examples that immediately come to mind: Leigh Bardugo and Lauren Fortgang; Jennifer L Armentrout and Stina Neilsen; Jack L Pyke and Dan Calley; and so many more. So when I’ve learned that Elizabeth Evans was recording the whole of ACOTAR series I immediately ran to look for the pre-order. To say it was worth it is an understatement.

What absolute joy! Series completely reimagined. There is something about Elizabeth Evans’ performance that captures Sarah J Mass’ writing so voice so perfectly, the written word becomes that much better.

I adored hearing this story again. Absolutely can’t wait to get to the next books.

Huge congratulations on the 10th anniversary too.

As a big fan of Elizabeth Evans' Throne of Glass naration, I was so thrilled to hear she was doing ACOTAR too. I can safely say it was worth the wait.
Elizabeth Evans' naration brings depth and energy that completely reinvigorates the story and brings the characters to life. Excited to hear her continue the story!

Rerecorded, reimagined!

Elizabeth Evan’s narration breathes new life into this fantastic series! I was so excited to hear she was re-recording the entire series as she’s my all time favourite audiobook narrator - she did not disappoint in the slightest. Definitely worth buying it all over again!

The Re-Recording We Deserved

I find her quite repetitive and could do without all the mentions of vomit, loose bowels and people wetting themselves!

better than l thought once you get into it

I love Elizabeth Evans' voice, fits to the Maasverse perfectly. ACOTAR was the first series in the Maasverse that I discovered and thoroughly enjoyed the listen. Now it's even better with Elizabeth.

Amazing re-recording

So happy this has been recorded by Elizabeth Evans, love how it’s about the story and characters not having silly inflections. ToG is as amazing and now downloaded most books she has narrated!

Having just picked up this genre and starting my journey with the Fourth Wing books I eagerly anticipated this book. Oh my what a disappointment! Total dirge! Mills and Boon could have done better! However I’ve been reassured by my daughter that the series gets better so will persevere!

Recommended but disappointing

The story is a lovely concept and I kept listening to it as the reader was really good. Unfortunately, about halfway through I became quite bored; nothing seemed to happen.

Very slow
