Good classic
I enjoyed reading this when I was young and enjoyed the audio version. Arthur C Clarke has always been one of my favourite sci-fi authors

Well worth the revisit.
First read as a secondhand paperback costing 1\6d.(that's 7.5p for the non pre-decimal). Loved it then and enjoyed it now.

not his best
when listening to this story it's hard to imagine that Rama was written by Mr C Clarke, such is yhe ordinariness of this story. pulp scifi with tiny nuggets of brilliance.

Golden oldie but a bit dated
This is an old Arthur C Clarke classic but is showing its age. Technology has advanced far beyond even Clarkes imagination. That aside this is still a good story and Clarkes attention to detail and people unparalleled.

Solid suspense thriller with a heart of sci-fi.
Proof that you don't need alien invasion and blaster riffles to make a good sci-fi novel. The imagining of the moon in it dusty form swallowing the ship whole made for some excellent sci-fi and suspense as each problem becomes evident and the urgency of the situation grow. Some charactesr were a little underdeveloped, but the story is short enough that no character over stays their welcome.
Competently narrated, with a good feel for each character.

a gripping read
although a little dated this really is a page Turner of a story, and keeps you on the edge
right to its conclusion, this is one of Clarkes
finest books, anyone wishing to get into
sci fi ,this comes well recommended.

Stretched-out novella
There's just not enough story in here to justify a read of this length. The sci-fi is nice, the outdatedness isn't a problem, but this should have been a much shorter book. I don't really want to know the inconsequential back story of every single accidental character.

As good as I remember it.
As good as I remember it. I first read it in the 1960s as part of my growing love for Clarke.
