Summary
Felix and Lane are trying out their new normal. Normal means no more car chases, no more drug lords, and definitely no more kidnapping bad guys. All of that is a thing of the past in this new, normal(ish) life style filled with family get-togethers, torturous jogs through the park, and the occasional romp in the parking lot. Felix is done stealing (all but for the cat). He is actually enjoying the boring side of life, especially with Lane by his side doing what he does best: looking handsome. But when Felix's brother wants to repair their relationship, he brings with him a secret that could cost all of them their lives.
Lane isn't complaining because the thrills of life-threatening situations are right up his alley. They may think they have a handle on the situation, but what they do not know is that someone has been working them from the shadows. Forcing them to do exactly what he wants as he drives them closer to his sick game of life and death.
Join Felix and Lane in a race against time, their only weapons being their humor and their wit.

Hilarious
Excellent narration. The story was okay but the interplay of the main characters made the book. Not many writers or narrator's can make me laugh out loud but this book did it, on many occasions

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A Light in the Darkness is absolutely brilliant and so laugh out loud hilarious it's untrue. In the previous book Hidden in Darkness I wasn't sure about Joel Leslie's narration, mainly because he was a new-to-me narrator, but i'm happy to say I've got used to his narration now!!! Fabulous book and series.

Brilliant sequel
Wonderfully exciting story again. The pace picks up towards the ends so dramatically and I just couldn’t stop listening. I had to know what happens next to Felix and Lane.
Exceptional narration by Joel Leslie. He has the ability to enhance the moment increasing the mood so you can visualise and feel what is going on.
Definitely on my listen again list.
I do hope Alice Winters has more books planned and Joel will narrate them.

another great book in this series
This series has it all, a well written, exciting storyline, the plot keeps your interest from start to finish and some of the best character duo I have come across in a while Felix and Lane's dynamic is hilariously written with plenty of emotion thrown in for good measure. This series needs to be listened to in order and now I can't wait to get straight into book three. I highly recommend this book.

As good as the first book
As with the first book, this is a hidden gem. Exciting action, good relationship and I found myself laughing out loud many many times. There’s a psychological thriller element to this book too, but despite the fact that I’m not a fan of being scared, I loved it and found it exciting. This is so much better than the usual boring trope out there, and it’s refreshing to have a proper plot that hooks me so much that I listen to it all on my headphones in one day. Hope there’s more from this author on Audible soon because the two books from this series have been fantastic.

Great second book
I absolutely adore Lane and Felix!
This second book is best enjoyed after reading the first but not essential it can be read as a stand alone, however I feel to really appreciate the relationship between Lane and Felix you would benefit by reading the books in order.
The snarky, sarcastic humour between the two MC’s is just my cup of tea and had me belly laughing.
Having a disability myself I know how important it is to be able retain a sense of humour without offending anyone and I feel the author Alice Winters, achieved this perfectly.
As for Joel Leslie, his narration was sublime! He was Lane and Felix, his comedic timing and performance was just what was needed for these two characters and I couldn’t imagine anyone else narrating this series of books.

Side Splitting Action
I swear that Alice Winters writing and Joel Leslie narration are the entertainment dream team. This second instalment of Lane and Felix’s story was fabulous. The snark and banter, the tender touches, the wild and crazy action, and hilarious sexy times with an animal audience, had me on the edge of my seat, filled with anxiety or laughing out loud. If you like your M/M romance with a bit of sass then I can’t recommend this audiobook highly enough.

Brilliant sequel!
I had so much fun listening to this 😀 The story is original and interesting, the dialogue witty and the feelings between Felix and Lane are perfect - love, snark sprinkled with humour.
The icing on the cake is Joel Leslie's performance! He is the perfect choice for Felix and Lane (and the others). He does a great job with the sly humour, funny lines and the suspense.
I absolutely loved the story and narration, the only spot on an otherwise perfect book, is the overuse of 'he says', 'I say'. (Not enough to detract from my enjoyment).
