Summary
A young woman must navigate the dangers of a strange new world filled with magic and mystery in this imaginative and highly detailed LitRPG adventure.
When Alice Verianna went to sleep, she was just another teen from the Denver suburbs. She definitely didn't expect to be transported to a magical alternate dimension, inhabited by monsters and presided over by a mysterious System. Here, people resemble RPG characters and everyone has access to their own status screens.
Grappling with the mechanics of the elusive System isn't the only challenge Alice faces. It seems an underground organization known as the Society of Starry Eyes has taken a particular interest in other dimensions. If they find out about Alice, they will stop at nothing to hunt her down and forcibly extract from her the secrets of her world.
Now, in addition to pursuing her own scientific endeavors, as well as learning to harness the magic that surrounds her, Alice must determine the Society's ultimate intention—and how she ended up here in first place. Before it's too late . . .
The first volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series—with almost two million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Great!
Interesting magic system which main character investigates. Initially put off by young age of MC but shy proves to be an interesting intelligent person. Story developing well.

Amazing book 5 stars
Really enjoyed the story and all the characters. Yes it's a slow pace book but that is not a problem but great because the story is well developed and is going in a great direction.

Nice change of pace
The MC does take a little bit to warm up to, but she is 15.. so some slack given. It's a nice change of pace from a lot series I am currently reading with constant conflict and high stakes. I was pleasantly surprised by this book.
Narrator is not someone I was familiar with, but will look out for future books she is narrating, as she was pleasant to listen to and had a decent amount of voice differentiation, so it's nice and clear who is who.
Though I'm not so sure about the Conservative RP accent for the system 😅

I liked it
The book was good, a bit slow in the beginning but the majority was interesting. I can definitely say I am excited for the next one.

drinking game
Good story overall, but you could make a good drinking game out of the amount of times they say 'her heart'

Tedious
Nice concept - excellent narration, tediously introspective storyline - had to stop listening - there are just too many unsustainable speculations that motivate the MC’s decisions - and only so much I can tolerate. The unimaginative title should have given me a clue…
