Summary
On the fairway of life, love comes when you least expect it.
Diane Thompson is happy enough. Her successful accounting firm allows her plenty of time to play all the golf she wants and enjoy her life in small Sussex village Tynebury. She's finally over the divorce from her husband, but potential suitors are few and far between for a 50-something woman in the English countryside.
Tamsin Foxley is determined to keep matters of the heart separated from her new teaching job at the Royal Tynebury Golf Club after a disastrous romantic experience put an end to her previous employment. She has also vowed to no longer fall for women almost half her age.
When the new season starts at the golf club, Diane and Tamsin become fast friends. Their feelings for each other quickly go in an unexpected direction and they both have to reevaluate what it is they want from life. Can Diane overcome her fear of falling for a woman? And can Tamsin accept her taste in women may have changed?

5☆?
there's nothing wrong with it, in fact I really enjoyed it, the story is well laid out, with a cast of characters, and perfectly reflects Conservative middle England,
the narration is excellent too
it's just not literary enough and a bit short, also comparing to Harpers' other books.
but I'd read again, and like more set in the same world created here.

Generally good book
The story was generally good (tho' you could see the ending coming a golf ⛳ course away) .. Awful snotty middle class/middle English accent spoiled the narration. This was my first Harper Bliss book 📚 so hope for better in the next one I read ...

Good storyline awful storyteller.
Loved the storyline but the voice of Carmen Rose was so annoying. It was almost like she was reading a shopping list.

Nice story
Nice enough story fairly predictable with no great surprises but at only just over 5hrs got through the audiobook in one sitting I have endured stories twice as long with less substance.
The narration was not so good, pleasant enough voice but the posh Margo accent that I suppose was put on for effect was quite robotic and delivered like reading assembly instructions.

Poor narrator.
Narrators voice makes it hard to engage with the characters. Please find better british narration. Just beacause the story is set in the English country side doesn’t warrant an overly posh voice. Otherwise the story is enjoyable.

Class
The narration and the story setting put this novel squarely in the upper/middle class echelons- nothing wrong with that but not my thing. I did like the fact that the couple were older - having someone in their 50s made a pleasant change. A nice story overall.

good story but.........
A good story spoilt by the narration, which is stilted with little feeling. The concept of the older woman deciding to take charge of her future albeit with a woman is not new but still interesting.

I couldn’t listen to it!
Didn’t even finish the first chapter. Awful performance! Monotone, no respect for punctuation, almost like a robot was reading.
