About this listen

Farmer Tubbs takes a real shine to one particular pig, so much so that he can't bear to send him to market with the other young pigs. Soon Ace is befriended by the farmyard animals including Nanny the goat and Clarence, the cunning white cat.

Together they help Ace to find his place in the farmhouse, ousting Megan, the farmer's aristocratic corgi, from her queenly seat – the best parlour chair.

But Ace is not the descendant of the Sheep-Pig for nothing! Fame is waiting around the corner ...

This was one of my first audiobooks as a child and it was lovely revisiting it as an adult. The performance is great and it’s a beautiful and funny story. 23 years after I first heard it it’s just as good if not better.

Such a blast from the past. Lovely story

'Babe's' great-great-grandson is even more intelligent than Babe. The relationship between pig and farmer is gentle and warm and the story flows wonderfully.

Dick King-Smith does it again!!
