Summary

At home alone for the holidays, Agatha Raisin decides to host a dinner party for the elder residents in her Cotswold village of Winter Parva. Agatha's never been much of a homemaker, but she's dead set on making this the perfect holiday for the 'crumblies', as she affectionately calls them. She's decorated a tree while fending off her cats, Hodge and Boswell, and even made a (lumpy) Christmas pudding in between swigs of rum. But when Agatha dumps the pudding on the head of the local self-proclaimed lothario - an 85-year-old with a beer belly and fingers like sausages - his death by dessert proves more than a trifle as mysteries mount higher than the season's snowfall. So much for trying to do good by her neighbors. Now Agatha needs no less than a Christmas miracle to get herself out of this one.

Not my sort of story

Struggled to finish it. Sorry. Might try one of the other Agatha Raisin stories. I haven't even watched the TV series.

short and fun.

Good old Agatha in a fun festive tale of murder and mystery. Not too taxing, it is no Agatha Christie, but preformed excellently as always.

Fun, short story!

I am delighted to have this included in my audible membership. I would not use a credit or pay for such a short story, as I see from some of the reviews other have done.

However it is a fun Christmas themed listen. I feel that you may appreciate it more if you have read/watched/listened to other AR.

I enjoyed listening to this on my dog walk.

A Christmas delight

A short stand alone story containing a mixed bag of interesting characters together with Mrs Raisins usual friends, It squeezes in all Agathas eccentricities alongside a mystery. A very light hearted enjoyable read.

A Perfect, Quick Festive Listen.

If you could sum up Agatha Raisin and the Christmas Crumble in three words, what would they be?

Fun Festive Froth

What about Penelope Keith’s performance did you like?

A good, plummy narration.

Any additional comments?

I bought this book because it was the deal of the day. It definitely isn't worth the £6.99 that it's currently priced at. But, that moan apart, it was a nice festive listen as I wrapped up the Christmas presents.

Short but Sweet

Agatha is spending Christmas alone so she tells Mrs Bloxley that she will invite 6 elderly people to Christmas lunch, now Agatha is no cook but after buying presents she decides to make a Christmas pudding to save a few pence. She and her trusty friend Roy Silver have mixed up this concoction and decide to put it in the shed. When it is time to bring on the pudding Roy goes to get it and it is covered in flies, Agatha being Agatha sprays the flies with fly spray, and when her quest gets a bit antsy one in particular she hits him on the head with her pudding, and he dies.
Will she get away with it, nice little listen and it was on the free list it was very short and as always Penelope Keith does the narration.

Good as usual

What about Penelope Keith’s performance did you like?

She just knows her job. Her voice for this kind of a genre is just perfect.

Any additional comments?

I bought this as a Christmas treat and liked the story altogether. Agatha amuses me and even as a short story this was a time well spent.

Very entertaining

Just the kind of audio book you can listen to on a cold winters day, near Christmas time.
