Summary
You can’t bargain with death if you’ve already sold your soul.
Special agent Patrick Collins has been reassigned by the supernatural operations agency to New York City. Navigating his new relationship with Jonothon de Vere, the werewolf he’s now soulbound to, is nothing compared to dealing with territorial disputes between the vampires and werecreatures who call the five boroughs home. But the delicate treaties that have kept the preternatural world in check are fraying at the edges, and the fallout is spilling into the mundane world.
Manhattan’s club scene is overrun with the vampire drug known as shine and the subways have become a dumping ground for bodies. When the dead are revealed as missing werecreatures, Patrick and Jono find themselves entangled in pack politics twisted by vampire machinations.
Learning to trust each other comes with problems for both of them, and the gods with a stake in Patrick’s soul debt aren’t finished with him yet. Bound by promises they can’t break, Patrick and Jono must find a way to survive a threat that takes no prisoners and is stalking them relentlessly through the city streets.
Old and new betrayals are coming home to roost but the truth - buried in blood - is more poisonous than the lies being spun. Trying to outrun death is a nightmare - one Patrick may never wake up from.
All Souls Near & Nigh is a 104,000 word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Ferry of Bones & Gold, and listening to the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one. Please see the disclaimer at the beginning of the book for content some listeners may find triggering.

Dark Paranormal Story
Very intricate, enjoyable, complex paranormal, mystical story. The world-building is incredible and detailed, but I was a little confused by the number and mix of various gods and paranormal factions. That didn't ruin my enjoyment on the story, but I do wonder if my understanding would have been a little better if I had read or listened to Soulbound Book I first. I absolutely loved Patrick! He was so bold and brave and fearless, no matter the challenge or risk, and Jono was the perfect companion, support, and lover. I look forward to more in this series, and now I definitely need to go back and grab the first book.
The narration was terrific, especially the way Gary seemed to pronounce all the complex god names so effortlessly. Great job!
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook via the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

fantastic follow up
I really enjoyed this book. the story continues and is so gloriously complicated. the relationship is growing slowly, no insta love here and it feels like the right place. I'm loving the new characters and there's so much potential.
the narration is excellent and as a Brit, I commend Gary Furlong on his English accent. it's so nice not to see English men portrayed as upper class and snooty so well done Hailey for writing Jono so well.
can't wait for the next one.

Great Series
There's just so much happening in these books, I'm blown away by her world building and I love the "detective"/mystery aspect of it too. ITs a well thought out, unique world, with a fantastic storyline and romance. What more do you want? I really think Gary was the perfect narrator for these! the more I listen to him the more I love him

Fantastic second book, full of action, great story
After enjoying A Ferry of Gold and Bones so much I was really looking forward to this book and it fully lived up to and surpassed what I could have hoped for. There is more in store for Patrick and Jonah and they come to terms with their new Soul Bond and work on a new case that has come Patrick's way. Added to that is the New York city's God Pack and their complete lack of care to other were-creatures that come their way and Jonah's rage at this brings him closer to stepping up against the God Pack.
So much happens in this story and a lot of information carries over from book one so I'd recommend listening to/reading them close together to make sure you remember the people, connections and information and that it all makes sense. If able, I would have listened to this in one sitting but I devoured in only a few days, needing to keep the story going as it was non stop with action and the developing story line. Cannot recommend this book and series enough, Hailey has outdone herself and I am really excited for #3.
Gary Furlong has done another amazing job in narrating this book. I was hooked right from the start and he kept my attention throughout. Fantastic work is done with the voices for each character, giving enough personality and individuality that they were easy to tell apart and enjoy. Emotion was packed into the story by the author and Gary gave his all in providing voice to those emotions, right through the spectrum, for this book.

Epic, detailed, otherworldly!!!
Hailey is in her own world with her creations and this is no exception. I love Jono and Patrick.
The story follows on from book 1 and the world is detailed, dynamic and at times complicated but Hailey's writing draws you in and enraptures you. So many questions need answering and while on this epic adventure even more questions pop up. I love the back and forth between Jono and Patrick as they navigate their new soulbound and unsanctioned pack they have formed. We learn more about both men and I love that Jono's alpha and powerful nature is finally able to take hold and he is able to take action against the current God Pack alphas.
The story is an intricate web and you never know what's going to happen next. Some great new characters are introduced and we see all the original favorites. I look forward to seeing where Hailey will take us next.
If you're looking for a new world to dive into, with adventure, darkness, steam, and dynamic characters that will keep to on your toes, then look no further than this series. It will enthrall you!!! I'm loving it!
Thanks for reading!

A Fantastic Sequel to this New Urban Fantasy
All Souls Near & Nigh, the sequel to A Ferry of Bones and Gold, continues on, a couple of months after Patrick and Jono become Soulbonded and learning how it all works.
As in the first book we have a vast array of characters ranging from werecreatures, witches and mages to gods and goddesses.
Where in A Ferry of Bones and Gold the gods were from Egyptian and European cultures, in All Souls Near & Nigh we meet Nuestra Senora de la Santa Muerte, Our Lady of Holy Death, a Mexican/Catholic Goddess,
Tepoztecatl and Quetzalcoatl, both Aztec Gods and the Native American god Coyote or Altse Hashke.
The plot continues to be complex, detailed and exciting and the characters varied.
I am in awe of Hailey Turner’s amazing imagination and attention to detail, this series is a must to all those who have an interest in the fantasy genre not just mm.
I must applaud Gary Furlong on his stellar narration, not only did he do a 5 star performance throughout, especially with Jono’s dialogue, his perfect pronunciation of all the Aztec gods names without hesitation or stumbling was worth 5stars alone! Well done! 👏👏👏

Great addition to the series!
This book picks up where A Ferry of Bones & Gold ends, and while the romance between Jono and Patrick is still a subplot, their banter, the little gestures between them, the growing intimacy and how much they complement each other, make it clear we're on the right path.
I loved getting more of Jono's POV in this book, because he's still my favorite even if Patrick is catching up with him. Patrick is witty, sarcastic, stubborn and resilient, especially after what he went through in this installment. Jono was supporting and caring, even when he was dealing with a lot as well. And the chemistry between them, even when there are just two sex scenes in this book, was out of this world.
I adored that after so long without a pack, now Jono not only has Patrick, but Sage and Wade and counted with the support of the Tempest pack and Marek and some new allies. Of course, there's also the villains, and Ms. Turner managed to make them tri-dimensional and unlikable. I really want Estelle and Youssef to get their comeuppance at the hands of Jono soon.
All Souls Near & Nigh was fast-paced, interesting, action-packed and filled with all the things I love about the Urban Fantasy genre. Really, between the detailed and intriguing plots and subplots, the endearing main characters and Hailey Turner's fantastic writing, I have no trouble recommending this book and series!
While I liked Gary Furlong's narration of the first book in the series, I enjoyed his performance in All Souls Near & Nigh even more. He's more settled in the characters, both main and secondary, and I felt the narration was less monotone. The series is great in any format, although lately I've found myself preferring audio, so I have no trouble recommending this one.

Epic story
This was a great listen. I loved the book, the emotions, the action, the intrigue, but I go too fast trying to get to the finish line.
Listening to the story was great as I heard details I had missed on my first read and Gary's voice is perfect for Patrick and Jono.
I can't wait for the next one :-)

Brilliant second in the series
I have been waiting (not all that patiently either!) for this book since listening the first in the series earlier this year, I can safely say that it was worth the wait.
This second book in the Soulbound series continues on a couple of months after A Ferry of Bones and Gold finished and something or someone is killing Werecreatures, the old treaties and alliances are fraying. The immortals are back but this time as well as Hermes popping up, Patrick and Jono are dealing with South American and Aztec Gods - Quetzalcoatl and Tepoztecatl, the Native American trickster God Coyote and the Mexican/catholic death cult Santa Muerta which are seamlessly woven together to make this a very exciting and interesting book, which had me looking up more in reference as I know little of the subjects.
I loved the audible book as a whole, but there are some harsh bits and the trigger warning at the beginning of the book some people may need to be aware of.
Patrick and Jono are settling into their new normal, I really feel that Jono is coming into his own during this book and the chemistry between the pair continues to grow as do the feelings, Marek and the gang are back, as is Lucien and his night court and there are more dealings with the God pack Alphas Estelle and Youssef who are being their normal charming selves, I wanted to slap them silly every time they were on the page.
To say anything else about the plot would ruin the magic of the story so I will just say this, this audible book is another in this highly enjoyable, brilliant and addictive series. I for one cant wait to find out where we the readers get taken to next time.
