Summary

Riley Tanner has a best friend, the best friend a girl could ask for. He's supportive, loyal, honest, trustworthy, kind, and thoughtful. He's also the biggest player in school. Their relationship has always been easy and affectionate, but after Riley's month long vacation, things become a little strange. She starts to look at him in ways that go way beyond the 'friend zone'. Add in her best friend's rival, and things become a whole lot more complicated.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STORY

What a beautiful story!

I have read three books now by Kirsty Moseley, what the heck have I been doing!! I want to devour this author's books right now having just finished Always You as well.

Each book I have read has had a lasting effect on me and each journey is unforgettable, I definitely need to read more from this author.

Always You is a Young Adult cross over into Adulthood and independence. The story of two best friends who become more, well eventually anyway.

I love a friend's to lovers romance and this book has all that and more including heartwarming, heartbreaking and intense moments.

I have to admit Riley and Clay didn't half make me roll my eyes at the beginning of their story, they are best friends who are very touchy-feely, they hold hands, hug and Riley jumps into his arms quite often and then she wonders why her boyfriend gets jealous. Clay has felt more for Riley for a long time and boy is she oblivious to it.

Always You is a journey into what becomes a beautiful relationship with lots of bumps and scrapes along the way to test the strength of not only Clay and Riley's relationship but friendship too but what can I say this is a relationship that could stand the test of time and I loved taking the journey with them.

This is one of those books that I am certain I read a long time ago but Goodreads doesn't seem to have it on my shelf *rolls eyes at Goodreads, so I was not aware I had already read this once I started but things started to become familiar to the point I knew I had read it before so I downloaded the audio and it was like a brand new story for me even though I knew what was coming, the narrator did a fab job of doing both male and female characters. Riley and Clay are in their teens so she didn't have to put on that pretend deeper male voice and it worked.

Recommended YA friends to lovers story.

Too long and too many sub stories

Would you try another book written by Kirsty Moseley or narrated by Andrea Emmes?

No

Has Always You put you off other books in this genre?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Andrea Emmes’s performances?

No

What character would you cut from Always You?

All of them haha

Any additional comments?

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm afraid this book was a huge fail for me, I love the synopsis and the fact the that it was a long friendship that turned into love.

The storyline however was just too much, there was way too many stories going on in one book.

Look, we all have our pet names for people, hell I even call my other half "chick" but throughout the whole book????really????

"Riley Bear" (eye roll) is our MC, her and Clay have been best friends since they were knee high, their parents even think that they will eventually end up together living happily ever after, this is probably why at 16 Riley Bears parents allow her to have Clay stay overnight once a week to watch movies, sleeping in the same bed may I add!!!?????

I mean come on, parents of 16yr old daughters would not allow this, especially with an 18 year old boy with raging hormones, are they stupid or what??

The thing is Clay is not like other boys, oh no, he is a perfect gentleman and treats Riley Bear with the utmost respect (apart from one time copping a feel) even telling his friends to leave her alone!

Oh and what is up with the hickeys ?? Nobody does that NOBODY!!!

The list kinda goes on and on for this book and I feel terrible giving a book a bad review, but I said I would be honest so there you are ;○)

One story morphs into another story, Riley has the most trustworthy parents in the universe, even giving her and Clay $1000 to go gambling, in Vegas, underage! (oh yeah and getting married!) After scoring some fake id's (they just give them away in the US don't ya know) they win twelvety million squillion dollars at the casino and just walk on out with it, without even flashing their sparkly fake id's and pop off to get wed!

Then we have the stalker Blake (eye roll) Then the accident with the miraculous recovery (eye roll)
Riley Bear telling Clays parents that they basically weren't allowed into the hospital room to see their own son on deaths door, and of course the sweet sacherine ending.

After reading it I wanted to go and read some good old fashioned smut to cleanse my pallet! .
