Summary

A lesbian romance about music, accepting the past, and embracing second chances to write a new future...

When golden girl pop star Bridget Callahan's broken engagement comes out, she heads back to her hometown for the first time in five years to write songs for her next album. And maybe while she's there, she'll finally be able to face the woman she left behind - who she never let go.

Bar owner Alex Marlow has spent the past five years mending her broken heart by pretending she doesn't have one. But Bridget's return disrupts her ordered life and brings all those chaotic, buried feelings back to the surface. Can they forgive each other and themselves for mistakes made when they were younger?

Contains mature themes.

Sweet

Lovely narration of this very sweet romance where it all comes down to communication if a relationship is going to work.

Enjoyable easy listening

I really enjoyed this story, yes some parts were predictable but the writing and narration made up for that.

Sweet f/f love story, nicely done

A tender story with characters pushed apart by circumstance and misunderstanding. All the right elements to create a happy-ever-after set in a small, cozy town where most would love to live if such a place existed. Both writer and narrator are excellent.

Worth a listen

An easy listen, but not enough filth for my liking 🤣 good narration, but maybe a few too many characters that you don’t find out much about. Worth a listen though.

Hard to follow

I was swayed to listen to this book by the sweet synopsis and the support of the positive written reviews.

The author has a wonderful premise but it feels as though this book should have been told over a series.

Every chapter jumps between ‘Then’ and ‘Now’ and it’s hard to follow the storyline.

The story felt like it was missing something and I didn’t really feel connected to either of the characters. I feel this is likely because there is so much backstory and set up going into it that we don’t feel any of the angst that we should in their current circumstances. In some ways, the stakes don’t appear to get bigger in the ‘now’ chapters.

The narrator did a great job, and it’s something to listen to if you have the time but in comparison to other wlw romance audibles that I’ve listened to on repeat at least two or three times, this is one that I wouldn’t consider having the urge to listen to again.
