Summary

From Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the renowned exorcist in Rome, comes this powerful, eye-opening book on the deadly antics of Satan and his fallen angels, as well as spiritual remedies for each.

This book provides a basic orientation in the dark phenomenology, succinctly explaining Catholic doctrine on the fallen angels and the innumerable manifestations.

The many questions Fr. Amorth answers in this book include:

  • Where does the Evil One dwell in the human body?
  • How does the Devil appear and what does he look like?
  • What are the powers that comes from Satan?
  • Do the sins of ancestors influence our life?
  • How are spiritual evils contracted?
  • What is the state of souls in purgatory?
  • What is the role of sacramentals in fighting off temptation?
  • When should exorcisms and prayers of healing be performed?
  • What happens during an exorcism?
  • What you should do when a family is being attacked by a demon?

Thought provoking memoir

Fr Amorth speaks from a lifetime of experience and although I personally found some of it difficult to hear, it has given me a lot of hope

Amazing

Amazing insights from one of the worlds greatest Exorcist. I really liked the advice on spiritual warfare and resisting the devil.
The stories from the exorcism are scary but intriquiging.
I'm not a Catholic and found some of the teaching on Mary, the saints and purgatory hard to relate to.
but overall brilliant
It was brilliantly read too.

Have Faith.

This book is jaw dropping. The author states without any exaggeration his life as a catholic priest cleansing the unwashed and battling and overcoming the demons. Anyone who doubts that God exists listen to this book and you will soon find your faith.

A Good Read for The Faithful

Great read for the Faithful who believe in spiritual warfare and are interested in grounded detail into the subject of possession and exorcism. However if you are looking for a horror story roller coaster ride this is not the book for you. I have to say that at times I wondered if Ryan the Narrator was actually a Robot!! needless to say I didn't enjoy him much.. Sorry Ryan. Godbless Fr Amorth

Accessibility was grand

I love the simplification of a subject that many scholars complicated. I can hear no ego. I can hear a man that has been about.

Excellent narrator, interesting subject

Other reviews highlight poor narration, but I found him very good and his tone relaxing. I did the whole book in 2 sittings which is impossible with an annoying narrator. Listen to the sample and make your on mind up.

The topic is interesting and delves into the more mystical aspects of Catholicism that you don't hear often.

MAKES A GREAT FICTIONAL MOVIE, BUT NOTHING MORE.

What a load of rubbish. Even the slightest bit of critical thinking will see contradiction and ‘plotholes’.
For instance. All spells are evil, even ones for good, but exorcism is fine, which is nothing more than a spell, it's just semantics.
In general it just shows how jealous and petty ‘God’ is, worship me or suffer. The author is delusional.
