About this listen

Lacey Terwilligers shock and humiliation over her husband’s philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass email to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family’s lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbour named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one…last…thing?

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, I found the narration was excellent and complimented the written story really well 😂

Very Funny

I was afraid that a story about two people who write scary books would not resonate with me.
But I underestimated Harper's witty writing that comes out in every aspect of her books.
10/10

I found this a nice little story, not too challenging or thought-provoking, it was quite predictable but entertaining for all that. It's not the kind of book that makes you want to listen again or even think about it again once it's over but it was enjoyable enough and non-threatening. The American voice was pleasant to listen to and the writing was interesting without being gripping.

If you could sum up And One Last Thing in three words, what would they be?

Funny, saucy,way-to-go

Who was your favorite character and why?

I shall look out for more Molly Harper novels in the future - Definately my sense of humour

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Not sure this heading is the right one for this book but presuming it is then I would have to say that the 'information was presented in a way that was interesting and insightful' and very funny.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nothing

Any additional comments?

I laughed out loud in so many places. There were a few times that I really felt for Lacey but mostly I enjoyed her feisty style and determination (Yes, I know it's not real!!).

Why didn't I think of that ......

It was easy to listen as the main character was not heart broken. I like it. It does not make it very real but reality is not what I am necessarily looking in a book.
I enjoyed it. I will be happy to purchase another novel of the same author.

Easy to listen

I really enjoyed this story, it is a story of revenge and finding oneself. it is also funny had me laughing out loud.
Narration was good too.

A funny read.

The storyline is very predictable. Also, there's more in this book about cheating, bad marriage, divorce and law then about romance and new relationship, let alone sex.

Storyline problems

This is another great story from Molly Harper and delivered flawlessly by Amanda Ronconi, who is easily one of my favourite narrators. If you are looking for an easy and enjoyable read with well thought out characters, then this is a book for you. This was an entertaining read which had me laughing out loud on more than one occassion.

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi score again!
