Summary
One starship will either save Earth or destroy her.
A century ago our star erupted, destroying Earth's wormhole network and closing off trade with her colonized planets. After being out of contact with the younger worlds for so many years, Humanity is shocked when a huge ship appears at the edge of the solar system. Our outdated navy investigates, both curious and fearful. What they learn from the massive vessel shocks the planet. The lost colonies have survived - but the reunion isn't going to be a happy one. Our descendants are vastly superior in the art of warfare. Worse, there are other beings undreamed of beyond the human frontier: strange, unfathomable...alien.
Battle cruiser Defiant, the first capital ship to darken Earth's skies, is tasked with exploring new passages to the younger planets. Old Earth must reunite with her children...but can humanity survive the inevitable conflicts? Captain William Sparhawk, determined to follow a path of honor and truthfulness, dares to rise to the challenge. Battle Cruiser is a military science fiction novel by best-selling author B. V. Larson.

Great page turner, enjoyable book.
Great page turner, enjoyable book.
I have read 2 of the first 3 books, on the 3rd now, great space opera. The narrator I thought suited the main character well.

Toffs in Space!
Pretty much a paint by numbers start to another B. V. Larson series. Will still try the second book, but more on the authors merit than this book's.

Lots of action
If you could sum up Battle Cruiser in three words, what would they be?
adventure; action;captivating
What was one of the most memorable moments of Battle Cruiser?
First encounter with Lady Chloe of Astra.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The battle scenes with the symbiotic aliens
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
battlecruiser is the right tagline in one word. It is a heroic epos happenimng in space and of course with a happy end
Any additional comments?
The main heros of the epic story don't die medical works wonders, humanity has found solution to longer life. The reader is on the good guys side and they eventually win. Entertainment for the Scifi enthusiast.

Fabulous Fun
The narrator was superb and I loved Sparhawk‘s ridiculous pompous English persona (Think Errol Flynn - although Australian - in space). Thoroughly good fun, a great trilogy and a rare treat.

Need to stick with it
First few chapters were slow going and I'm not a big fan of way its written in the first person. that said, once my personal issues were removed and the story got going I grew to enjoy it.

Good book, Narrator found lacking
Good story, well written but the narrator wasn't the best. I felt he was very flat and when it should have been an exciting part of the book he struggled to let me feel that. I'm not sure yet if I'll listen to any of the other in the series yet but if I'm at a lose to find something I might give them a go.

Bit samy, samy, as Star Force.
Bit samy, samy, as Star Force. I read all these. and loved them. but this was too similar. Mr Larson you need to come up with new ideas.
