Excellent read

An excellent, gripping story from the very first line, beautifully compiled and narrated very well with multiple voices which are very believable to be different characters would highly recommend to any fans of light fantasy such as the twighlight series or hunger games. A light tale of conflicting emotions.

Tween Market

This was geared towards the Twilight lot, but it was still a good listen. I really like it when it's almost like a radio play and they add sound effects, I find it brings much more of an atmosphere to the ears!

Typical boy meets girl, nobody understands them kind of thing; but added deep South history which made it more interesting.

The story about love is always a good story. There are many surprising situations. There are many lovely characters. And bad as well 😉

Interesting and a little bit different!

I really enjoyed listening to, the voices being made to match the accents of the characters was a nice touch and the music and some sound effects helped add to the mood and immerse in the situation.



It was nice to have it coming from a make point of view and the fact that neither of the main characters were automatically the 'OMG I must date them they're so hot!' types. Although some of the magic still seems a mystery I think there is a reason for this and it will be explained later on. I look forward to the other 3!

Mixed feelings

I never watched the film and I think if I was actually reading this book I probably wouldn't have finished it but Kevin really brought the characters to live. The story line was really well thought out but maybe too slow at unravelling. I also felt that the ending was an anti-climax… but I’ve only just learnt there’s a second part of the story, so it might get better.

It kept me going to the end...but

I tried this because I figured it was time to try something I wouldn't normally listen to, you know, discover something new. Not a bad story, it kept me interested to see what would happen for a long time but...it was clearly targeted at an adolescent market, even so the whole "she was soooo beautiful" kind of repetition in the story was very tedious. A good edit of repetitive phrases and the story would have had far more dramatic impact. I felt a bit ripped off by the ending as it didn't really resolve the story. If you are bored and have nothing else to listen to then this will keep you entertained OR if you are a teenager in desperate need of a love story, you'll love it too, otherwise, don't bother.
