About this listen

Some people are just made for each other....

When seven-year-old Fran first met Will they knew instantly that they were made for each other. For 11 years they were inseparable, but then, at the age of 18, Will just upped and disappeared.

Twenty-five years later Will is back.

Is fate trying to give them a second chance?

Still nursing the heartbreak from all those years ago, Fran is reluctant to give Will the time of day. The price Will must pay is to tell the truth - the truth about why he left, the truth about why he’s back....

And Fran has her own secrets to hide. The time has come to decide what Fran and Will really want from life - before it’s too late.

Unashamedly romantic, Before We Grow Old is an audiobook full of love, laughter and tears, and you’ll be rooting for Fran and Will from the moment you meet them. Let Clare Swatman whisk you away for the love story of the year. Perfect for fans of Sophie Cousens and Isabelle Broom.

Very Emotional

This is the first Claire Swatman book I have read/listened too. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a book and Karen Cass brought it to life in only a way she can ~ Karen is one of the best narrators we are lucky to have in audible.

There is a 🚨TRIGGER WARNING 🚨 for anyone dying from cancer or have had a loved one go through it.

I totally believe that you will be with your soul mate as nothing that is meant for you will not go by you, this book proves that "The One" doesn't get away!

This book was cleverly written so we didn't listen to the daily physical things involved with a dying cancer patient but instead the emotions Will felt. Obviously this book was bittersweet, the only thing that annoyed me, was Jacob knew he had a brother in Kieran because Fran told him but Will didn't mention he had a daughter to Jacob, so he didn't meet his little sister Elodie, even though they must have met by the end of the book ~ a tad frustrating!

Bonus about this book is it is FREE to AUDIBLE members in the plus catalogue included membership.

Before we grow old

I took a chance on this book pure because the title caught my attention, the reviews where good and I liked the narrator.
I did rather guess that there would be sad parts to this story, but it was really written in lovely way, bringing up family relationships and grievances and how the characters resolved these.
This was such a heartfelt and in many ways life confirming tale.
I really enjoyed it.

Loved this

I completely loved this from start to finish. I didn't want it to end but couldn't put it down. If I had to pick something I didn't like, it would be that it ended too soon.

Felt like narrator was reading footy results.

The story was okay, overall a bit dull for me and the narrator sounded like she was from the 80s reading the Saturday football results which was doing my head in. I nearly gave up at one point. However, this is completely different to my friend who actually read it twice so I suppose it boils down to taste.
