About this listen
When the exuberant president of Ng'ombwana proposes to dispense with the usual security arrangements on an official visit to London, his old schoolmate, Chief Superintendent Alleyn, is called in to persuade him otherwise.
Consequently, on the night of the embassy's reception, the house and grounds are stiff with police. Nevertheless, an assassin does strike, and Alleyn finds he has no shortage of help, from Special Branch to a tribal court - and a small black cat named Lucy Lockett who out-detects them all....

Another Ngaio Marsh
This was my third Ngaio Marsh story. I have to say that I am enjoying them. Philip Franks is an very good narrator. He may not get Allen's name right, but this didn't really bother me unduly. On to the next Ngaio Marsh

A Fine Who-done-it and Charming Story
As with so many of Ngaio Marsh's books, I was
barely able to put it down from the first 'page'!!
If you love cats, then the extra relish and joy from the back-story of LucyLocket, makes it a cert. for the single book to take to a desert island for the long-running BBC radio programme!
