Summary
Bred to be a super soldier. Born to defy an empire.
When the terrorists who killed his mother return, 19-year-old Chandler wants to enlist to fight in the coming invasion. But in the neon city of Heim, nothing is what it seems.
His loved ones are starting to vanish without any explanation, and until now, his physical stats have kept the military out of reach.
But then, he encounters a stranger who talks of genetic secrets from a clandestine government project. Secrets that, when unleashed, could transform Chandler into a weapon, unlike any his world has seen.
Undergoing a shocking transformation, now he will stop at nothing to defend humanity in the apocalypse, even if that puts him in the crosshairs of a mysterious alien force. Even if it plunges his planet into galactic war.
If you like the fast pace of J.N. Chaney, the humor of Christopher Hopper, and the coming of age in Star Wars, you won’t be able to stop listening to this action-packed sci-fi adventure. Includes the complete series in one epic hero’s journey. Fourteen hours of entertainment from four professional actors...for only one credit.

Really enjoyable sci-fi 😎
I really enjoyed the cast narration and the story which had a good pace with some good plot points. I’m pleased to say it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, but I hope there will be another in the series. I can totally recommend this book!!

Good military Sci-Fi!
Short version: good book - you can't go wrong buying / reading it! I count for more books from this author in the near future!
Longer version:)
Ok few words about the book itself. First about the characters: those are well created without "shortcuts" like “traumas” that define the entire life of the characters. In this book characters are typical to that genre (with is what we are looking for while reaching for those books) and they are consistent with the life experiences and choices making them believable as a real-life person – despite theirs superpowers of course :) So solid 4 stars in that department – there is room for improvement perhaps with adding more “human flaws”(?) – overall good job.
Universe. Ok, the universe isn’t too big and its fairly simple – is it bad though? Definitely no! It’s consistent and you can enjoy it easily. It reminds me of the "Galactic Liberation" series by B.V. Larson and David Vandyke at the beginning of the series – so it can grow if the author decides to continue this universe. 4.5 stars in that department.
The story is good it has some twist now and then. I found myself hooked throughout most of the audiobook. Honestly good job there. Solid 4 in that department. If you are looking for a good time to relax with a book – you can’t go wrong here.
To be honest I wasn’t sure about this audiobook as it has 4 narrators and in the past, my experience was mixed, at best, with that kind of performance. But fortunately, it wasn’t bad. I still prefer the single narrator “old school” audiobook thought. However, it is recorded very well with some sound effects like the electronic voice of some characters (but fortunately not overdone like in some other audiobooks where I hear the sound of opening a beer or so – you will not be bombarded with that (thankfully). The only downside, for me, was this that I had some problems to “tune in” to that kind of performance and it took me like an hour before I was able to fully focus on the audiobook. I guess it is my problem and shouldn’t be any problem for most of the other readers.
Overall 4 / 5 stars for me. And by the end of this review, I did go with 5 overall stars while the story and performance 4.
I’ll look forward to more audiobooks from this author.
