This was a brilliant start to the series. Demi is a fabulous character. She’s sassy and feisty and doesn’t take no for an answer. This book is gritty and dark with some twists and turns that had me screaming and laughing and I can’t wait for the next one.

MJ Webb did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. There’s so much inflection and variance in the characters that you really get a strong sense of individuality. I felt the drama and emotions the narrator brought through and I think this is one of the best narrations I’ve heard in a while.

I recently took an interest in the mafia books and this book is great in that aspect. It's so good I couldn't stop listening so be prepared you can't either. The female lead is so good and likeable and interesting as a person to read about that you can't help yourself but turn page after page. Self destructive a bit yes but really good. I also enjoyed the fact that she has friends that are girls and they are talked about in the book which is different than most RH books I've read. I also liked the guys in this book and the tension that is rising. Can't wait for the next! The audio is good, the voice is easy to listen to and MJ Webb makes the story come to live with her voice acting.

Wow, I loved this story. This book was great to listen to as you just don't know where the story or the characters are going to go as Demi is so unpredictable.
Demi has been kidnapped by the Blood Mafia. They are ruthless, violent, murderous vampires but it doesn't stop Demi from trying to escape, constantly.
I loved Demi, she was feisty, sarcastic, fearless (most of the time) and completely unhinged - she was so entertaining to read. Mateo, Colt and Grey have no problems running the mafia but struggle with how to deal with Demi.
The story is interesting and has a few twists but you will not see that cliffhanger coming.

The narration was good, although it took me quite a while to get use to the guys voices, they sounded very similar and a little bored. I found it easier easier listen to once I changed the speed to 1.25.
