I usually do housework, gardening, etc., while listening to books, but this one I had to sit still for. its a hot one

There were parts that I loved, e.g. how Ash and Zelda met which was classic, Ash's family and the narration was perfect.

What I didn't like was the insipidity of the story. It could have been soooo much more!

1. Who was Millie and if no one, why bother mentioning her all the time?
2. What happened to the horrid boyfriend and any retribution?
3. The archeology could have been so much more but instead all we had was the boss in the bedsheets which was monotonous.
4. The word "love" drove me nuts as one of the previous reviewers said.

This is the first time I have read this author and I loved it. A real pleasurable easy listen. Well written and a great story. Jason Clarke was amazing, he has a wonderful voice. The only thing that I disliked was his term of endearment by calling her love, this seemed extremely out of place and did not sound right.
I will be reading more of this author and definitely be listening to books narrated by Jason Clarke.

Really loved the characters and plot, but i wish the characters kept their fire and behaviour from the first chapter to the end. I wished it was the male narration throughout as Emma's voice was lacking passion and colour. The whole book was far too short with no point of climax

Awesome characters but

…but SOOOO boring.
I just can’t put my finger on it but even though I loved the characters, the narration was pure gold and the plot had a great base the book was just boring and uneventful. I usually like a book that doesn’t have to rely on over the top drama to stay interesting but this book could have needed some. It was just bland and not worth the credit imo.
