About this listen

How brave must you be to love a dragon?

Keira loves her rustic village life, but she doesn't love the man her overbearing mother expects her to marry. But that is of little consequence to her neighbors, especially as two newcomers have stirred up excitement in the village.

The first new arrival is Aaron Drake, handsome and charming, and intent on pursuing Keira, which stirs up trouble with her mother and soon-to-be-betrothed.

As for the other new arrival, who wants a fire-breathing dragon living in their backyard?

But both Aaron and the dragon have secrets they would prefer to remain hidden from the villagers. As events begin to escalate, the truth will drastically alter Keira's life in ways she could never have imagined, setting her on a completely new path.

Bound by a Dragon is the first book in The Dragon Archives, a clean, paranormal fantasy that will take you on an epic journey through medieval castles and lairs. Awarded the Indie Brag Award, it will keep you engrossed to the very last chapter.

Enjoyable book

Keira lives in a rural village with her younger sister and parents. She spends her time running the family market stall and is expected to one day marry a man she despises. and knows will treat her badly. Then a handsome rich stranger Aaron show's up one day and her whole world changes.

This was a good book which surprisingly had elements of vampire activity. There are no 'Disney' character's in this book. Although the main character Keira is sweet with a sense of justice, many of the other characters are evil, sadistic and selfish. The dragon itself is an unapologetic man eating beast who does not suffer fools. The romance is good with 'suggested intimacy' rather than full blown s3x scenes. No cliff-hanger ending. It's just a good dragon story which plants roots for continuing the series, hinting at the sister and the rogue dragon being important in future books. I'm definitely interested in reading book 2.

The narrator did a great job with all the voices convincingly, to the point where I would forget it was a female doing all the male voices. I listened at a faster speed as the narration is slow.
