About this listen
In Fiasco, Kentucky, there is one rule: never fall for a Foxx brother. Any woman who did, ended up dead—or so the rumor goes. Townies call it a curse. But I’ve lived it, and I won’t survive it again.
I’m not a cop anymore, but I’ve seen enough danger to know that Laney Young, the beautiful stranger who just showed up in my small town, is running from it. She’s lying about where she came from and what she’s doing here.
I don’t want her near my family or the quiet life I’ve made for myself. But my brothers have other plans. Now she’s everywhere–working at my distillery, living in our guest house, calling me ‘cowboy’ and skinny-dipping in my horse trough.
But it’s the way she dishes out attitude from that pretty mouth of hers that has me wanting things I’ve sworn to myself I’d never want again. I should push her away, forget how her lips taste, and ignore how she makes me want more out of life again.
When her past shows up and mingles too closely with mine, her lies begin to unravel. The rules don’t matter anymore. I mess up, dig too far, and get too close. Only two things have the power to keep her safe now: bourbon and lies.

What an audiobook!
The audiobook rendition of Bourbon & Lies, brilliantly captures the captivating fusion of slow-burning romance and small-town intrigue. The story, which is told in duet by Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor, takes place in Fiasco, Kentucky, a town that is shrouded in mystery and plagued by the notorious Foxx family curse.
The immersive nature of the audiobook, highlighting Connor and Samantha's skill in capturing the intricacies of the characters and the moody backdrop of the narrative. I was captivated by the attention to detail throughout the nearly 11-hour length, from the subtle performances to the pacing.
Despite the lengthy runtime, you could finish this audiobook in two days. I would take it up right away and fall in love with it again, even if I had to stop and restart it because of other obligations.
Another smashing performance for Connor and Samantha, despite the slow burn of the romance the spice was hitting all the right spots

This is the way to start a series!
Well, well, well, what a story Victoria Wilder had in store for me! Laney on in Fiasco, literally hiding. Luckily she has been placed with the protection of the Foxx brothers, and though she seems okay, Grant knows something isn't right. But that feeling couldn't be because he is attracted to her, could it? As Laney finds her stride and holds her secrets, Grant slowly worms his way under her skin. And while he is falling for her, he knows the family curse follows him, and he can't get too serious. Where does this all go? Suspense, romance and bourbon, it's a fantastic combination. Wilder has masterfully woven this story, giving twists and turns I know I didn't see coming while a beautiful love story unfolds. Laney is strong and she gives as good as she gets. Grant creates the push pull that is so strong and it leads to witty banter and incredible foreplay. Add in the sibling teasing, and I was all in. Fantastic start to this series and I can't wait for more.
How does this get even better? Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor narrate this story and WOW. Their duet narration brings out the best in the characters as the banter bounces off each other, feeling the chemistry build. the suspense is thrilling and it could not have been a better listen. Grab this when it releases!

A Soul-Stirring, Duet-Narrated Triumph
Bourbon & Lies isn’t just a story, not anymore, it’s an experience. This audiobook stole sleep, sanity, and my heart. A grumpy ex-cop with a bourbon-soaked past, a fierce woman with secrets in her eyes, and a town riddled with legend and longing? Add the sheer brilliance of Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais in seamless duet narration, and you get magic. Their performances didn’t just bring Laney and Grant to life—they became them. The tension? Exquisite. The emotion? Palpable. The heat? Devastating in the best way. This is storytelling elevated—sensual, suspenseful, and soaked in southern charm. If you’re craving something immersive, addictive, and unforgettable, this is the one. A masterpiece on its own.....

Amazing- This was somthing else. The Naration was just brilliant and Victoria's writing is divine. I fell in love with the Fmc and Mmc obviously, but just from the well crafted interactions between other characters, I fell in love with them too.
I giggled, blushed, whooped, revelled in the Spice, held my breath, bit my nails, panicked, had a couple of 'oh no' moments and enjoyed every other emotive response this story brought out of me.

Obsessed with this !!!
in fiasco, kentucky, the foxx brothers come with a warning label, but that does not stop laney young from landing right in the middle of their lives. she is a mystery, a woman on the run with secrets she refuses to share. the last thing he needs is another reason to break his rules, but she is working at his distillery, living on his property, and making it impossible to ignore her. he should stay away, but when her past collides with his, keeping his distance is no longer an option. now, the only things that can protect her are bourbon and lies.
laney and grant’s story had everything i love in a small town romance. amazing chemistry flirty banter a touch of mystery and just the right amount of tension. laney is fiery, independent and knows exactly how to push grant’s buttons. while grant is broody protective and totally taken with her from the start. their relationship is a slow burn but once it ignites it’s electric. the suspense kept me hooked and the side characters especially the foxx brothers and grandpa griz added so much charm and heart to the story i already need the next book in this series.
i listened to the audiobook as an alc and samantha brentmoor and connor crais absolutely nailed it their voices. brought out every bit of tension and emotion making the story even more addictive.
tropes: small town, neighbours to lovers

Entertaing story,great narration
I’ve been wanting to read this book since it flooded my timeline when it first came out. When the author revealed the narrators for the audiobook I was even more excited. It’s my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. It’s exciting, humorous, heartbreaking and heat-filled, but it also deals with some heavy topics, so be sure to check the content warnings.
This book captured my attention from the first chapter. The suspense plotline was my favourite part of the story. I loved the build-up, the plot twist and the showdown with the villain and how it highlighted Laney’s bravery and resilience, making her a truly compelling female lead.
The characters are great. Grant is a grumpy ex-cop, working for his family’s bourbon distillery as a fallback career and from his first interaction with sassy, sharp-witted Laney, sparks fly. Their relationship builds slowly, full of tension and playful banter, but when things finally ignite, boy, does it burn. I also loved how easily she was welcomed into the community. Even his dog got on board real quick. The side characters are warm, supportive and quick to defend their own. I’m looking forward to seeing them in the rest of the series.
The narration was amazing. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor are two of my favourite narrators and their performance was truly captivating. Connor always nails grumpy characters and sharp humour and Samantaha Brentmoor voice is perfect for Laney’s fiery personality. Together, they delivered a captivating performance that kept me invested and immersed in the story.
If you love romantic suspense with sizzling chemistry, loveable side characters, and a touch of small-town charm, this is the book for you.
