About this listen
I'm the pastor's son.
He's the star quarterback for a small Kentucky high school.
While the town worships him, I pray for God to take my life.
He makes my life a living hell by making me his victim.
This perverse game we play could end us both.
How can something that feels so right be so wrong?
The price if the truth is discovered is death, but I can't stop.
Neither can he. No one can know.
Can I risk it? Is Roman King worth dying for?

Excellent story 👏👏👏
The level of emotional struggle in this beautiful story was immense and heartbreaking. The types of bullying suffered is beyond abhorrent to such an extent my brain can’t comprehend anyone treating another human in such disgusting ways. That said, this was a wonderfully written love story with a perfect HEA and I loved it.

Intense, incredible mindblowing story
This one may have had me tearing up so many times the characters were brilliant, and the storyline had me loving them so much. There were so many times that the bullying aspect was so raw and i just could not pause this. Each time they got close only for it to all fall apart.
This is not a light easy listen, its dark and will tear and crush your heart but such an amazing listen made even better by the narration.

Here is a recommendation after DNF (second chance)
ʙᴜʟʟʏ ᴋɪɴɢ
ʙʏ: ᴀɴᴅɪ ᴊᴀxᴏɴ
ɴᴀʀʀᴀᴛᴇᴅ ʙʏ: ᴛɪᴍ ᴘᴀɪɢᴇ, ʟɪᴀᴍ ᴅɪ ᴄᴏꜱɪᴍᴏ
Unlike my other recommendations, I started reading this book when it first came out but stopped because it was 𝖍𝖆𝖗𝖉 for me to continue. There were scenes that felt like a 𝖕𝖚𝖓𝖈𝖍 𝖙𝖔 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖘𝖙𝖔𝖒𝖆𝖈𝖍, 𝖙𝖔𝖔𝖐 𝖆𝖑𝖑 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖆𝖎𝖗 𝖔𝖚𝖙 𝖔𝖋 𝖒𝖊, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖒𝖆𝖉𝖊 𝖒𝖞 𝖍𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖙 𝖘𝖍𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖐.
I closed the book and didn't try to open it again until friends I knew from Instagram and Facebook (thanks to the beautiful genre, I won amazing friends for life❤️) convinced me to give it another chance.
So I lovingly dedicate this recommendation to you because if I hadn't given it, it wouldn't have been written.
Jonah, son of a priest.
Roman is the football player and star of the high school in a small town in Kentucky.
In this town, sports are worshiped, and there is no place or 𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖑𝖚𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖕𝖊𝖔𝖕𝖑𝖊 𝖜𝖎𝖙𝖍 𝖆 𝖘𝖊𝖝𝖚𝖆𝖑 𝖔𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙 𝖎𝖘 𝖓𝖔𝖙 𝖍𝖊𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖔𝖘𝖊𝖝𝖚𝖆𝖑.
There were moments I wanted to be the knight on the white horse for Jonah, 𝖋𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖏𝖚𝖘𝖙𝖎𝖈𝖊 and truth. He is all one big and compassionate heart; no one in this town deserves to be 𝖕𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖉 by the immense amount of mercy this boy has.
There were moments when I wanted to 𝖙𝖊𝖆𝖗 𝕽𝖔𝖒𝖆𝖓 𝖙𝖔 𝖕𝖎𝖊𝖈𝖊𝖘; he made me 𝖍𝖆𝖙𝖊 him and 𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝖆 𝖌𝖗𝖚𝖉𝖌𝖊 𝖆𝖌𝖆𝖎𝖓𝖘𝖙 him, and at the same time, he made me 𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖗𝖞 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖍𝖚𝖗𝖙 for him. He made a 𝖗𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖘 𝖜𝖆𝖘𝖍 my face.
My heart 𝖇𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖐𝖘 for Roman and Jonah; it 𝖍𝖚𝖗𝖙 that they had to 𝖍𝖎𝖉𝖊 𝖇𝖊𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖉 𝖒𝖆𝖘𝖐𝖘 𝖎𝖓 𝖘𝖚𝖈𝖍 𝖆 𝖏𝖚𝖉𝖌𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖆𝖑, 𝖓𝖆𝖗𝖗𝖔𝖜-𝖒𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖊𝖉, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖙𝖚𝖎𝖙𝖔𝖚𝖘𝖑𝖞 𝖍𝖆𝖙𝖊𝖋𝖚𝖑 𝖙𝖔𝖜𝖓.
A book that makes you want to 𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖒 and that takes you through the 𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖗𝖊 𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖗𝖚𝖒 𝖔𝖋 𝖊𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘—a book that made me think I was 𝖈𝖗𝖆𝖟𝖞 because how can I be 𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖗𝖞 one moment and happy the next? A book that made my heart beat for love❤️
Thank you very much for a book full of messages and content. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. ❤🔥

Beautiful love story!
Jonah is the preacher’s son, newly relocated to small town Kentucky for his senior year of high school. Roman is the town football star- Popular, handsome, gay, playing straight, and deeply closeted. To top it off, he hides his sexuality and bullies Jonah when he feels a strong, undeniable attraction to him.
This book was amazing, start to finish. The story rings true about two young men in the Bible Belt, grappling with their love and attraction while dealing with prejudice from all sides. The narrators did a superb job bringing this characters to life and everyone in this story has their own distinct voice. I listened almost straight through over two days and was so sad when the story was over.
Andi Jaxon is a new-to-me author, but I plan on exploring all of the books of this series. This book is so well-written, and the pacing of the story is engaging and at times, heart-pounding. Highly recommend for fans of MM/Bully romance.
I was gifted a free copy of this audiobook, and I loved, loved, LOVED this story and the characters so expertly brought to life.

Brutal
This is a brutal storyline. These characters love each other but can’t be themselves as society doesn’t accept it. The heart wants what the heart wants. A great performance.

Amazing
I have the paperback of this but never got around to reading it . Roman has been brought up that being gay is a sin and Jonah is the son of the town preacher who preaches about it being wrong. When Roman and Jonah fall in love they try to hide it because of the bigotry in the town which isn’t helped by Jonah’s father . This book was so good and brought to light how messed up this world is to persecute two people that are in love , no mater who you fall in love with no one has the right to abuse you and the fact people use religion to do that is just so wrong . Love is love no matter what .

Just no
There was very „graphic“ sexual assault without any trigger warning. This is a huge no go!

Ooof
I love bully king the book, but it’s a little disappointing when the people involved in editing do a poor job, there was times that lines were repeated and a whole chapter was missed, how does that even happen? I would suggest that the book is removed and the audiobook is listened to and fixed. It’s not fair on people who haven’t read the book to have to listen to half of it.
