Eloise has loved Beckett since he stuck up for her when she was 7 it was so funny listening to her and her friend talk about crushes when they were so young . For the next 11 years she doted on him until she was 18 and he broke her heart and she decided she couldn’t go on wanting him . Until the day he turns up on her school camping trip and the chemistry between them is off the charts they had their up and downs and danger stalking her but when they get their HEA it’s perfect.

Lack lustre story line and didn’t enjoy the power dynamic between the main characters. The Male protagonist just comes across as violent and abusive which the pathetic female protagonist supposedly enjoys. I think the only way this dynamic works is when there’s a really robust storyline to back it up.
I’m getting really bored of male gaze porn being regurgitated by female writers and expecting us to believe that is what your average woman wants.
On the upside the narrators were good.

I do really like this author and I have listened to many of her books. I actually read the second book in this series first and I honestly don’t know if I would’ve read that one if I would’ve read this book first. Because I didn’t think I would finish reading it.

Eloise felt way too naive for my taste when it came to him. The story…. It needed something more/else.
