Summary
A classic fairy tale gets a sexy, edgy twist.
Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can’t refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother’s medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.
The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he’s built walls to avoid.
As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending...or a recipe for disaster?

Good story, well performed.
Laughed out loud several times at the sass! Engaging story, fabulously told by both performers. will probably listen to this one again.

Slow burn, grumpy/sunshine, excellent narrators
I really enjoyed this, there were laugh out loud moments, emotion, heartbreak, swoons, steam, angst and sweetness.
A real slow burn, fake relationship, grumpy/sunshine, kind of enemies to lovers but with a feisty spark all the way through, it had a bit of everything! I loved both Bianca and Jackson, he grew on me more and more as the book progressed. I wanted to give that gorgeous man a big hug, he was both grumpy and broken, but kind hearted, loyal and at times so vulnerable and unsure of himself. Bianca was fiery, feisty but had her own vulnerabilities thanks to a nasty piece of work, her ex. Special mention for Rayford too, he was fabulous!
I listened to the audio and both narrators were excellent (I could listen to Sebastian York's voice all day). If I had one niggle, there were a lot of "I said", "She said", "He said" in the dialogue which once I noticed, felt like it interrupted it and broke the flow a bit. I also read the book alongside it and didn't notice it as much then, so maybe it was just how the narrators expressed it, differently to how I read it. It didn't distract from the overall story too much, it was too good for that.
Thoroughly enjoyable, I will be reading more from this author

Amazing!!!
I adored every second of this book, there was only one character I disliked that we met and a couple that we didn't meet but heard about, those three I would love to kick the crap out of! The rest of the characters were quirky and fun, or just redeemed themselves at the end when the truth came out.
I loved Bianca and Jackson! Once they got past the initial (false) impressions they really were made for each other and their relationship was, as the title suggests, a slow burn. The chemistry was there throughout and very strong, but neither acted on it for most of the book!
I loved the banter and the sayings as well as the New Orleans dialogue in the book and the recipes at the start of the chapters.
This book first made me laugh and then made me cry when we finally learned what Jackson had been through and again when Bianca faced tragedy. Loved how it worked out in the end although I'd have loved an epilogue, although maybe J.T will bless us with a follow-up story on the couple at some point, either in another characters book in the series or just a short story with Bianca and Jackson.

what a rollercoaster
Having exstremly black humour and loving bickering and bantering, this is really one of my favourites.and after having roughly 1000 audiobooks (hey, burnout needs an outlet and netflix isn't so desirable), it is a double thumbs up. The story, the surprises, the up and downs, the sadness (I had to stop while driving, because I had to meet someone and didn't need red eyes), but especially the humour. fantastic. And Sebastian York and Diana Luke did a fantastic job, no surprise there. Love it

Enemies to Lovers - Slap Slap Kiss - Wonderful
Ooh, I love a storyline with an alpha male and a take no sh!t female lead, and this one definitely falls into that category. Jackson Boudreaux is rich and arrogant, but underneath his harsh exterior he’s got a soft centre. However, when he demands a table at Bianca Hardwick’s restaurant, neither of them are prepared for the sparks that fly. Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite genres. The storyline is tried and tested and there really aren’t many surprises but it’s so well written with wonderful characters, lots of sexy time and a few emotional scenes had me hooked. A lovely addition to the end of some of the chapters were recipes for drinks and food. The final recipe for a cocktail, “Slap Slap Kiss” is on my to do list. Although as I listened to the audio version of this book, I couldn’t screen shot any of the recipes, that though is the only downside of this audio. Perfect narration from both Sebastian York and Diana York definitely makes up for it.

loved the metaphors
Great accents, very well narrated. I love Sebastian Yorks voice but he does so many books very well that you can get used to it (and I tend not to like his co-narrators), Diana Luke's delivery was so good it made it refreshing to listen to Sebastian again.
Fab story, although still fits with the usual rubric of romance novels -it was a fresh take.
Very enjoyable.

Brilliant !!!!
Excellent audiobook and written so differently from other romance novels. But the narrators made it spectacular. SebYo was marvellous as usual but for the first time I can remember I did not resent that the female narrator had more time than Mr Sexy Voice SebYo. Diana Luke’s narration was at a ten star level. I chuckled, laughed, had tear pricks at times at her portrayal of wonderful sassy Bianca and other characters. Very well done ya’ll.

Great voice artists bring this story to life
I enjoyed reading this story and so when I had the chance to get the audiobook I hesitated. I hesitated because sometimes the voice artists are terrible. Not the case here - they brought the southern story to life and made it even more hilarious and touching. Would definitely recommend.
