Another Good Yarn
Beautifully narrated as usual but a rather predictable story as we cross the Atlantic Ocean various times. I did enjoy the detail, basic story and the detail of the African Forests, life on board a sailing ship and of New Orleans. I wasn't bored but I have heard and read better Wilbur Smith stories.

Amazing Saga From The Deep South To Africa
Initially, I did feel that large parts of the book were similar to the Courtney saga such as Golden Lion or the classic Monsoon but Mungo St John proved an amazing character. Elliot Chapman is not as good as Sean Barrett but is pretty good. The narrative on the Southern US slave trade was harrowing and reveals some harsh truths. Enjoyed the tale of revenge and Chester is an excellent villain. However, there is no denying that in comparison to Ghost Fire that Wilbur wrote with Tom Harper that Corban Addison has some way to go hence the 4 stars . Wilbur still remains my favourite fictional author.

Another Classic Wilbur Smith Tale !
I have been a Wilbur Smith can for many years and this book did not disappoint me. It was beautifully narrated by Eliot Chapman, full of action and intrigue. Thank you.

Superb narration of a good yarn
The ugliness and cruelty of slavery is described graphically. It's difficult to comprehend that slavery exists even today.
