About this listen
London's cutthroat shipping trade is no place for a lady, although Olivia Cantarell has secretly acted as her father's assistant for years. Now she has inherited his company, she has no mind to give up control over it - and herself - by marrying, however flattering it is to be sought after for the first time in her life. In spite of threats and intimidation, she will fight to keep her business.
Careful, responsible, and twice jilted, Captain Marcus Easterday has no heart to attempt marriage a third time. But he cannot stand by and see a woman cheated of her livelihood by Ambrose Hawkins, rumored to be a former pirate and a man whose name is known and feared in ports from the West Indies to China.
Courted by the ruthless Hawkins while relying on the scrupulous Easterday's help, Olivia must conceal the identity of one of her clerks and protect her company and employees. Who can she trust?

Captain Easterday’s Bargain
This book was very enjoyable. The narrator did an excellent job. It told of a shipping company whose owner had died and left his strong headed daughter in charge of the company. In those days women did not run companies and a few prospective company owners tried to buy the company from her. Some even pretended they were in love with her and proposed marriage to her. One gentleman who had previously dealt with her Father had come into the office and as shocked to see that she was running the business. But despite his reservations he made friends with her and was prepared to support her. Eventually he proposed to her and she accepted. It was a busy story and lots of people were in to dirty deeds even going as far as to kidnap her. I enjoyed it very much.
