I'm sorry, Ms Beresford, but it's true.

I enjoy this book - why else would I purchase the audio book? - but the performance is awful.

Robotic delivery and mispronunciation abound. It spoils the book. Instead of getting involved in the tale, one is continually correcting pronunciation and wishing someone - ANYONE - else was narrating because there's no humour, no suspense, no emotion whatsoever. Gaps when there should be smooth telling, it's a dire performance. I recommend listening to (and learning FROM) Rosalyn Landor if Ms Beresford wishes to pursue this career.

TERRIBLE narrator

I enjoyed the book, it was whimsical, quite funny, I listened to it in a day. I expected some deeper, peril that never happened but I feel satisfied anyway

enjoyable, funny,entertaining and compulsive

The story was imaginative with lots of twits and turns which kept me listening. The only thing that spoilt it was the sex scenes way to many and explicit!! It spoils the story I had to keep moving it forward to miss those parts

Great story except for the sex scenes

An amusing and entertaining Romance. I particularly liked the character of Millicent, an unusually excellent heroine. Contrary to some other reviews I found the narration perfectly satisfactory, unlike a few others I have listened to

Love this story

The Reader has a good voice, and too, each character.

BUT, too many words were not pronounced correctly, Though, I believe, the Reader MAY be British, and not American, so No American Style of speech, to give a reason words COULD be pronounced not quite right.

Too Many Words NOT Pronounced Correctly

An enjoyable tale with many a twist and turn, full of laughs and a delightful way to pass the time. Could only have been better with a stronger voiced narrator an less sex.

Deloghtful Romp

exceptional. the writing, wit, situations and characterisation head and shoulders above most of these regency books.

makes you feel you are there

Ridiculous but fun to listen to. I was soo rooting for the sisters. Would recommend.

Title fits

Loved this book. And enjoyed the audio. Gender swap allowed a strong 'female' character to emerge in regency England. Very funny and plot sufficiently congruent to ignore some of the more ridiculous aspects. Recommended

Terrific Romp

The author has a wonderful sense of humour, dry wit and the characters were believable. Great book to read or listen to. I have to admit I've never laughed as much in places in all the books I've read. Thankyou
