About this listen

A man is discovered stabbed to death in a nature reserve, a ball of cloth rammed in his throat. When a second body is found, Carruthers is convinced that the reason for the deaths lies in the past. But how is the historical disappearance of a boy, the murder of a former journalist and a bitter dispute about a nature reserve connected? Are they hunting for one killer...or more?

Critic reviews

"A police procedural that delights the reader with a strong sense of place. Tartan Noir at its best." (Sarah Ward, author of In Bitter Chill, on Robbing the Dead)

Wonderful story and narration. I'm sad to see there aren't more books by this author on Audible.

Brilliant!

I loved the interaction between all the people especially the police. The story unfolded perfectly. Good author with great narration

Gritty tale

Enjoyed this and the previous book. I must admit the narrators voice was hard to get to initially, but, by the end of chapter 2 of the previous book, I was used to it.

But... PLEASE add the final books in this series! Nothing worse than starting a series, to find it's not all available!!! TIA

Enjoyable

Good narration (excellent accents for the different characters) combined with exciting storyline make this a very good listen
