Summary
There’s a thin line between justice and vengeance. James and Brittany fight for both against a corrupt police department.
James Fisher taught his students to question authority, much to the chagrin of his principal. He loved his wife, but his marriage was failing. His life was a bubble in search of a pin.
After his bubble burst, he moved to a backwoods town, content to waste away. He was awakened from his apathy by a small girl with a big problem. It was safer to look the other way. Getting involved would place James squarely in the crosshairs of the local police.
He was afraid, but he did it anyway.

Enthralling Thriller
When James Williams moves to a backwoods town for a fresh start he encounters a young girl who he suspects is being abused. Reporting it to the local police was possibly the biggest mistake of his life.
Persecuted by the tight-knit community and corrupt law enforcement officials James is pitched into a battle for his life.
Great characters, terrific plot and another cracking read from Phil Williams

This book is so addicting!
I started reading this book about 730 this morning and I just finished. At one point made myself pause it, but could not stop thinking about it. This is the second book I have read and listen to buy Phil M Williams in as many days and I have three more books I bought by him that I cannot wait to listen to. As far as this book goes James a mild mannered but a teacher who tries to teach students how to think for their self and be the one in mini not the one of many. It is these issues and the fact he lost his wife in a traffic accident with her boss who she was dating.moved to A quiet town in Pennsylvania, where He wants to mind his business and live out his days until the for seeable future. It is here where he meets Britney and abuse girl who was taken in by a sexual predator and the brother of the chief of police. When James is supposed to meet Brittney to forage for fruit and this is when he hears glass breaking in screaming coming from the trailer she lives in. This is when she starts staying at his house so he can protect her and this is all he got on the wrong side of the small town police. As I said this book is awesome, so awesome I loved it loved it loved it and can’t wait to read more by this author. I also thought the narration was great I highly recommend those who like the Mestic thrillers, the underdog winning and when the good guy comes out on top. Or the good girl then this is a book for you. Just make sure you have nothing else to do once you start reading it, you will not want to put it down!

How much would you risk to help someone?
James had a good life, passionately teaching his students to be individuals and question things around then, and his wife whom he loves.
When all this is taken away, he retreats to a small town to lick his wounds and put himself back together, wanting nothing and no one.
Then he meets her, the delicate shy girl Brittany. Then he discovers the danger she is in.
Without thought he knows he needs to help her, and he does.
What he doesn't know is how corrupt the place he has picked is.
He needs to keep her safe but at what cost? What will be asked of him and can he really keep her safe?
Ask yourself this, how far would you go to help a stranger, what would you risk, what cost would you be prepared to pay.
All of this is answered in this book, which is thrilling, heartbreaking, overwhelming and reaffirming. Definitely a journey worth taking.
Oh and why cesspool? You'll just have to listen to the book to find that one out
