About this listen
Jack's a retired ex-cop from New York, seeking the simple life in Cherringham. Sarah's a Web designer who's moved back to the village to find herself. But their lives are anything but quiet as the two team up to solve Cherringham's criminal mysteries. This compilation contains episodes 25 - 27.
Secret Santa
Bill Vokes has played Santa at the children's Christmas show for years. But with the show just hours away, he vanishes with no explanation. The whole village is baffled. Did something bad happen to loveable Bill: upstanding citizen, churchgoer, life and soul of the party and the holiday season?
Scared to Death
When classic horror movie star Basil Coates becomes the victim of a series of scary pranks, the local police put it down to a crazed fan. Just pranks, after all ... But with Halloween only days away, the spectre of murder suddenly visits the ghostly Coates mansion on the hill outside Cherringham - and Jack and Sarah find themselves caught in a mystery worthy of Basil's spookiest roles ...
Death on a Moonlit Night
When the boss of the big local DIY outlet is murdered on a moonlit night, all the evidence points to the store's junior manager. And when police retrieve the murder weapon from the Thames, the manager goes on the run. But Jack and Sarah are not at all sure of his guilt. Can they uncover the real killer before it's too late for the runaway suspect?
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham. The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Very confusing!
I waited with impatience to discover what was going to happen to Jack after his dramatic return to America and was thrilled when the next episode was released! Why then was I now listening to a repeat of a Christmas episode and no mention of the events of the last episode? The following episode assumes we all know what has happened and Jack has now magically returned to Cherringham (maybe!) and Sarah has somehow moved house and acquired a dog!!! I was very confused but dear reader (or should I say listener) read on..........
I accidentally came across 'Dead in the Water' whilst browsing and found the missing link! This is the story to listen to that bridges the episodes and explains what happened.
I still don't understand why it was formatted this way, it would have been much simpler to just keep going with the numbered episodes, Anyway, as usual it's all really good listening, you just have to search for it this time! As always, Neil Dudgeon does an amazing job....

Confused
Although I have rated this 5 star ,,I have to say I'm confused. Going from book 24 where at the end Jack goes back to America as his daughter has been in an accident. And Sarah is still living in the village. Then in 25 to 27 it seems Jack is back with no mention of his visit to America, and no mention of his daughter ,and how long he was away, only that Sarah looked after Riley while he was away. She now has a dog and has moved to house by the river. There is no details of these events.

wish you didn't mix English and German stories tog
I like the series and Neil Dudgeon is a good narater but the stories in English and German are mixed together making it difficult for us visually impaired folks to get the right language 😀🙂😓😢😭 and still no feed back from Audible

A Great Read and Listen
All the Cherringham Books, superbly narrated by Neil Dudgeon, would make a superb Sunday Night TV series. If you enjoy Midsomer Murders, you will really enjoy these stories. Can't wait for some more to be published.

Enjoyable light entertainment, but…
I have enjoyed this light, easy listening series…the narrator is superb .
But Mr. Costello’s ‘Americanisms’, that I assume have been missed by the editor, are irritating…e.g. English babies do not wear ‘diapers’ nor do we often refer to the ‘highway’.
