About this listen
Contains episodes one, two, and three of Claw & Warder.
Seduction, Episode 1
Leery Oriscoe is just a conflicted New York cop who got hit by the Hassidic bus - only the bus was driven by a werewolf. There’s bound to be a little crazy under his black hat. His life just got 10 times more complicated. His new half-vampire and half-succubus partner is smart, sexy as hell, and keeping a big secret from everyone.
Oh, and their lieutenant? She's the ghost of a Van Helsing. Their case? Tracking down the entity responsible for leaving the drained body of a young man in Riverside Park. With a succubus for a partner, another as a witness, and yet another as the prime suspect, will Leery end up the victim of the next seduction?
Arms Dealers, Episode 2
She's an expert spellslinger. He's a grizzled detective with a wolfish side. Dru and Leery are a match for anything. Faced with a pair of armless bodies and an unlikely pair of criminal masterminds - a Norwegian wood troll and an Unseelie - Leery knows the right people to help sort it all out. There's only one hitch: the Zombie mafia. Full of danger and mystery, the case keeps everyone involved on edge. Leery even takes a break from drinking coffee. With the Zombie mafia's constant need for spare parts, is it any wonder the Locus of New York is full of arms dealers?
Mitzvah, Episode 3
Everyone has a past, even Hassidic werewolves. Leery's past has a taste for blood and wants revenge. There's a killer running wild in the East Village, and according to the witness, it's Leery Oriscoe in wolf form. When Van Helsing puts him on a desk, Leery storms off, leaving Dru to prove his innocence. But to do it, she will need help from her mother, and that means a trip to Hell. It looks like Dru picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. After another body drops, Leery is in the clear, but the Rabbi that turned him becomes the prime suspect. To make things worse, the Zombie mafia's pet necromancer assassin is in town, and she's gunning for Leery.

Brilliant
This was one of those books I came across when seeing what was included in my membership. I always scan for either history, crime or horror type novels. It's the way I get to find authors I haven't thought of reading or listening to. This book is an absolute gem. I can't wait to listen to the next book.

Surprisingly excellent
I got this as it was 'free' and I was looking for something silly to pass away a few bored hours and though why not? But from pretty much the first 5 mins I was hooked.
The storylines are really original (I love the zombie mafia 😂😂), the actual stories are well paced, keep your attention and are just actually really good.
I love how the author has used a mix of the actual law and order character names and the names of the actors who play them for his characters - so many times I was like, wait a minute! And had to pop off to imdb to check if I was right or not 😂
So many times while listening to this I thought, this would make a great TV show! I would definitely watch it.
The narration also was excellent, the different voices used for each character made it really easy to follow who was saying what and the guy just has a really nice voice, the only problem was because he has such a nice voice, it's taken me a week to listen to the whole thing as when I listen in bed, I end up falling asleep, which in itself is amazing as I'm a really poor sleeper!
Basically, if you're looking for a serious read, this probably isn't for you, but if you're looking for something light hearted, funny and entertaining, definitely give it a go. I've gone and bought the rest of the series after listening to only half of this one, and I'm just off to start the second one now.

Very enjoyable
Enjoyed this a lot - my only criticism (which cost a star and almost made me give up) was the silly obsession with coffee. I know it was a character trait but at times it just became ludicrous!

Liked it despite myself!
Sometimes late at night, after I finish watching something on TV, Law and Order comes on. Every time, I decide it doesn't interest me, and it's too late, and I need to get to bed, but I watch the first few minutes and after that I have to stay up and watch to the end because I'm hooked in. This book is like that, and if you can get through the terrible/hilarious depiction of an Irish diplomat in the first book, you'll likely do what I did - settle in to enjoy the ride. It's a daft, fun, really quite gripping homage to the TV show, and not quite so grim, so good for a distracting listen on a long journey. Very well narrated, too.

Just found it boring
Couldn't keep my attention as it was a bit slow and mostly narrative. Probably just me but I found it a tad boring. It's rare I give up on a book half way through.

Wanted to love it but …
This is absolutely my cup of tea. Dresden Files, Rivers of London etc. When it started, I loved the Law and Order references but the characters were just a little too simplistic. The plots were hard to follow in places. I enjoyed it to an extent, but it’s not on my repeat list. I also think the producers really missed a trick by but using the Du Dunk theme from Law and Order, assuming it’s not copyrighted.
