About this listen

In the final thrilling installment of The Time Bubble series, the team faces their greatest peril yet. It’s been over half a century since teenagers Josh and Charlie first discovered the time portal in the tunnel that launched a lifetime of adventures.

Now retired and living in his new country pad with his wife, Alice, Josh is forced to face the reality of the impending mortality of the ageing team, as the first of them passes on, unexpectedly.

With his time travel and mind-transference technology, he stresses to the surviving members of the team that none of them needs to die. But events take an unexpected turn in the year 2070 when Earth's very existence is threatened.

The world is shrinking, day by day, with entire countries and oceans disappearing as an unexplained anomaly consumes the planet. Yet apart from Josh and his fellow time travelers, the people seem oblivious to the threat.

With time rapidly running out, Josh searches desperately for a solution but is this a problem even he cannot fix?

A fitting finale to the Time Bubble series, with all the loose ends nicely wrapped up, yet maintaining a decent story.

Excellent narration too.

Hopefully this isn't the end for the Time Bubble though.

In my mind I always thought the ending of Book 1 would be replicated in Book 15,

Hopefully Not The End

A brilliant and incredibly satisfying end to the Time Bubble series. Interesting to see how the characters' journeys are expertly wrapped up in this finale! However I feel it could be open for more …

Shame the series has finished

I loved all the Time Bubble books but this was the most anticipated. It was billed as the final one but I just didn’t want the series to end so I left it a while before downloading and listening.

I wasn’t disappointed. It was possibly the best and most poignant book of the series. It was brilliant to see the characters now older than me but still with the strong bond that kept them together through the years.

I don’t want to give the story away here but the ending was such that while it could mark the end of the series it left a lot of unanswered questions. I very much hope the author decides to revisit the team at least one more time.

A word about the performance of the narrator. I recall the same actor narrated one or more of the early books and many, including myself were critical of this as he sounded far too old to voice the dialogue of teenagers. However in this final book he was spot on and well to Jason for choosing him and to him for an excellent sensitive performance.

I very much hope this isn’t the last we hear of Josh and the team. The multiverse needs then more than ever now.

A Fitting End to a Brilliant Series. Or was it ?
