About this listen
Cole’s Saga - a post-apocalyptic novel by AJ Newman
Cole’s Saga is a stand-alone spin-off series, based on my American Apocalypse series. Cole’s Saga continues the story about Cole Biggs, and how he and his friends survive the apocalypse. North Korea, China, and Iran conspired against the world and used EMP bombs to destroy our grid. This new series starts in the Kentucky / Tennessee part of the US. The grid is down, and people panic as planes fall from the sky and cars stall. The US Government collapses and rogue government groups rise to power. Jack Harp is Cole’s best friend’s father. Jack has had to survive on his own back in Kentucky while Cole and Joe Harp tamed Southern Oregon and killed or got rid of the gangs and thugs. Jack and Cole team up to fight the rogue FEMA troops so they can try to escape and join their friends back in Oregon. Cole, Molly, and her two cousins were kidnapped by FEMA and imprisoned in a FEMA Camp where they work as slaves to help rebuild the eastern part of the old US. They were captured in California and taken to a FEMA camp in Kentucky. Cole had promised to take the women to Ashland, Oregon, and the safety of Cole’s community and he will succeed or die trying.
Listen to Cole’s Saga to find out how this young man survives and builds a team strong enough to defy the rogue FEMA and survive the lack of food and resources encountered during the apocalypse.

Nice to see how Cole gets on
This is very much in the same vein as the original American Survivor series and I would have rated it as such if it wasn't for a couple points which just become too incredulous.
Pros
* It was good to see how Cole gets on as he was left hanging in the previous books.
* It gave an interesting view of how "government" might reorganise
Cons
* With everything that goes on Cole meets Joe's father
* Cole's interactions with the letters from Joe's grandmother
* This spin off series finishes in 2 books, which is a shame as I was enjoying it. While this relates more to book 2, it does have a retrospective bearing on book 1.

Interesting story and listen
It was good to see how Cole survived after the capture but I did find it irritating the emphasis on 'hooking up' but I suppose it makes sense as they are all young and at that age.
The narration was brilliant and really brought the story to life

Enjoyed it
A really good read, plenty of plot twists and great characters, and the narration was wonderful. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Very Disappointed
Was looking for a better story bases on Cole and I am sure it would have been but Joe's father ruined it. In addition you could tell the author throw this book together without really planning it out. The story is rushed the characters except for Cole are very flat and in some ways never had a person to build from.
The narrators tried to save the story but it was a lost cause and even loving Grandma or mom to Jack couldn't save it.
