About this listen
A deadly virus. A brilliant, young researcher. And an infected survivor who threatens to steal her heart.
In a society ruled by sanctions and curfews, Dr. Meghan Forester emerges as the youngest and most promising scientist to join the fight against Makanza - the deadly virus that's ravaged the world.
Inside Compound 26, a giant government-controlled research facility, Meghan's new job involves studying the Kazzies, the rare survivors who carry the virus and now exhibit supernatural powers. But as her work unfolds, Meghan's horrified at the brutal and unethical practices the Kazzies are subjected to.
And most surprisingly, she falls in love with one.
Faced with growing conflict over helping the Kazzies versus following the Compound's strict policies, Meghan must choose: obey the government's unethical practices or risk everything to save the only man she's ever loved.

Brilliant series
I loved the book when I read it and was thrilled to receive a code from the author for the audio book.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audio book. I'm still not 100% keen on the way the male voices are sounded. I did find they all sounded too alike. But it was still really enjoyable and the narrator did put alot of feeling into the main character so you believe she was Megan. Personally I wish there could be male and female narrator's in each book but it's not possible due to cost.
Even so I would highly recommend reading or listening to this series.

Absolutely fantastic!
This is the second book in the series and it is absolutely fantastic! This is a well written and detailed story with the building characters and there back stories. This story had my emotions all over the place. I got sucked into the story from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down to go to work.
The narrator for the story was well chosen, she has the perfect inflection when telling the stories. Vanessa has a brilliant way with bringing the characters and their emotions to life. I think she does a fantastic job with the characters and I can’t wait for more she narrator’s. I definitely recommend this book.
I also can’t wait for more books in this series to come out on audible.
Once again I think this book is Magnificent!!!!

Worryingly good!
The thing I love about this is how it could happen really. Maybe not the changes the Kassies make but the destruction that diseases could cause. Written in a hopeful and thoughtful way, Krista has shown how life could change in a instant.

Compound 26
This book starts 6 years after the second wave happened. It is told from Meghan's POV. Meghan is the youngest PHD that has been hired to try and find a cure to the virus. She gets assigned to Davin's group. She is forced to enter Davin's cell to get to know him so he will give a willing sample of his DNA. Feelings start to form a bond between Meghan and Davin. She now will stop at nothing to find a cure and help the infected people get released. Can't wait to see what happens next.
