About this listen
THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
'Emily Oster is the non-judgemental girlfriend holding our hand and guiding us through pregnancy and motherhood. She has done the work to get us the hard facts in a soft, understandable way' Amy Schumer
Parenting is full of decisions, nearly all of which can be agonized over. There is an abundance of often- onflicting advice hurled at you from doctors, family, friends, and strangers on the internet. But the benefits of these choices can be overstated, and the trade-offs can be profound. How do you make your own best decision?
Armed with the data, Oster finds that the conventional wisdom doesn't always hold up. She debunks myths and offers non-judgemental ways to consider our options in light of the facts. Cribsheet is a thinking parent's guide that empowers us to make better, less fraught decisions - and stay sane in the years before preschool.

I didn't want to breastfeed once I said I would give expressing a go this time. I hated the idea of my nipples doing touched in any way, shape, or form... But I gave it ago and it wasn't to bad! However my body just didn't want to produce milk. I'm from the UK and we're supposed to be seen by a midwife at home within 24hrs, it took three days and they didn't even know we had been discharged, it was a mess straight from the beginning and we've been forgotten about on multiple occasions when it's come to vaccinations and prenatal check-ups.
But one thing I never would have thought to ask for or would've been advised to take was Domperidone. I have never heard of it prior to this book. I had no milk, I pumped and pumped with nothing to show. I begged for domperidone (after reading up about it ofcourse). At first I was told "it's not prescribed for that and you should just formula feed instead". It was a male doctor, I cried and said, "ofcourse you, a male, would say something like that after being let down over and over again.". He got me a female doctor a week later and she had known about this bring perscribe for this purpose and it worked!! My baby is nearly 10 weeks and I simply can't catch up with the amount I need, but I'm managing to feed him for a while and express enough to give him a bottle every few days, which is better than nothing. I couldn't be more greatful for this information. Thank you xx
