About this listen

Rowan thought she had escaped her life as a prisoner.

But even in Lochlann, she is chained by the memories of everything she left behind in Socair.

Of everyone she left behind.

With her people clamoring for war, the responsibility falls on Rowan to enter into a marriage alliance to keep her kingdom safe. That should be easy, considering she’s already received proposals from half the clans in Socair.

But even with plenty of options, she’s left with no good choices.

Will she play it safe? Or will she risk everything for the kind of love she never wanted to begin with?

The kind of love that could break her.

Love this series 🙌 ❤

Oh to put this beautiful story into words... I shall try. It was absolutely incredible!! Everything came together beautifully. We get to see which lovely Socairan Lord Rowan chooses, but not right off the bat of course, they got keep us guessing 😉It has some very realistic moments/conversations (that I can't specify for spoiler purposes.) Wonderful tension and banter and HILARIOUS moments and ones that make you cry. Again just a beautiful story, AND IT'S NOT OVER YET 🥳🥳🥳🥳 and I can't wait to see how Obsidian Throne wraps up Roman's tale 👏🏼

🎧The narrator is the absolute best. She keeps all accents and voices consistent through the series. I can always tell who's speaking. Love her! She is so so talented

💫 Some Quotes:
(Good gracious this was HARD without spoilers. Sorry guys this is all I've got 😅)

Life had been so much simpler then. There were no Socairan lords. No weather toes or floggings. Nothing that weighed too heavily on our minds or hearts.
...
At least I could feel confident in something when I walked down several sets of stairs to the Council Room on the second floor, since there were creatures far bigger than butterflies beating angry wings in my stomach with each step.
....
“Well…” my mother bravely cut in. “Why does it seem like no matter how big a kitchen is, there’s never too much space to bump into one another?”
“It does seem that way,”
