A fantastic book in the series,i have read all previous 17 books and i think this is another great read the auther has really bought together modern day terrorist issues into the book gripping at times and great characters and a fantastic narator reading the book definatly a 10 out of 10 book and would highly reccomend it cant wait for the the next read.

Like the different as no serial killer as such. The story was page turned chapters. But the 150 chapters... Why?

The story is a good idea as the coutries in Africa or another, in the 70a were dangerous places to be in.

Dr Alex Cross has gone international. Why? Maybe even James Patterson has realised the limits of his imagination in horrendous doings in American-bred ne'er-do'wells. Suddenly Dr Cross is in every African trouble spot of the past decade... cynical, moi? All I shall say is if I was a travel agent for African tours - I'd think about a new career. Few troubling items - First big massacre - it's in a Washington upmarket neighbourhood - lots of gunshots, screams, hoots of pure blood lust and yet no-one reported a thing??? Are you serious? Nosy neighbours (who are conveniently deaf for that night??? )turn up in their dressing gowns once the police assemble.

Second, when Dr Cross goes to Africa, he becomes a punching bag for every anti-American who roams the continent... why? How much can one body survive? Why is he even there? is this even likely?

Third, how easy he is - slutty Dr Cross. Loves Bree but without a second's thought, he's willing to spend the night with the woman journalist in Africa.

Fourth, Why wasn't a witch doctor thrown into the mix. We had everything else... corrupt customs officials, violent and corrupt police officers, an evil priest and even a conniving crocodile. Why not a witch doctor?

Fifth, who were the kidnappers at the end of his trip, when he's just minutes from his Washington home? CIA? UNICEF? Girl Guides Cookie Marketers? Who knows? I do know that I couldn't bear the tension in case Nana Cross (who must be about 110 by now) and all the junior Crosses had been killed off. Phew.... Once again, and surely against all odds, the Cross family survived more than any ordinary family should and got to enjoy homemade cookies.
Sixth, Given how hard it is to enter the US, how is it a gang of bad high-on-narcotic teen bandits from Nigeria can enter and move about at will, commit mayhem, leave and return easily??? Does no one check their hotel? Their purpose of visit?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Well spent, yes - passes time doing long drives

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I feel in the last few books, Alex's family take a backseat - when abroad, he hardly contacts them! Don't like the fact he nearly cheats on Bree - I don't think Alex as a character would do that?

What about Peter J Fernandez and Dion Graham ’s performance did you like?

Was Cross Country worth the listening time?

Yes - it is a compelling story - though I was disappointed with the end

Any additional comments?

Enjoyable - but not one of his best. It was good as it was so different - set in Africa - and harrowing at start when Alex first arrives. Loses something halfway through though......a few too many kidnaps!! Seems so unreal the 3rd time he is kidnapped (as if he would be with all the police watching his house?!)

The story is spoilt by the unnecessary background noise. I suppose they think it's dramatic effect. To me it detracts from the story.

Unfortunately I hated this book and I like James Patterson. I found it far too violent and disjointed. It didn't keep me interested and I didn't like any of the characters.
