Summary

Experience this special edition of The Black Echo, Michael Connelly’s award-winning crime novel narrated by Titus Welliver, star of the Bosch series on Amazon Prime Video - includes an exclusive bonus interview with the author and the actor featuring insider info and more.

For maverick LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch, the body in the drainpipe at Mulholland Dam is more than another anonymous statistic. This one is personal...because the murdered man was a fellow Vietnam "tunnel rat" who had fought side by side with him in a hellish underground war. Now Bosch is about to relive the horror of Nam. From a dangerous maze of blind alleys to a daring criminal heist beneath the city, his survival instincts will once again be tested to their limit. Pitted against enemies inside his own department and forced to make the agonizing choice between justice and vengeance, Bosch goes on the hunt for a killer whose true face will shock him.

"Michael Connelly is the master of the universe in which he lives, and that is the sphere of crime thrillers." - Huffington Post.

High-level Harry

I listened to this having seen the tv series already, so great to have the continuation of Welliver’s voice, although it jarred a bit with the difference in time period. Plot twists enjoyably different. My only criticism is with the dialogue narration, as Welliver does not give the characters distinct voices, occasionally leading to confusion over who is speaking.

Love, love, love

Loved the books, loved the tv series and lived this audio book!
Micael Connelly is an excellent author, his characters are so real, the stories so well planned and well written. Titus Welliver personifies Harry Bosch so well that it is a real joy to see the books come to life in the tv series. But my greatest love has to be this audible book it is all the above and more as Titus Welliver is such an excellent reader - his voice is so pleasant to hear - this book felt more alive that the tv series!

Titus brings it alive with his narration

The book.is good , if a little overworked in places , Titus Welliver brings it alive which saves it from being just another detective story . You have to listen carefully to it , miss a sentence and you may have trouble following where the story is going . Great to kick back earphones on relax .

Bosch

As I like the Bosch TV show I gave this a go and was not disappointed. The narration by Titus Weliver was just like listening to the TV show. The story is interesting with a Vietnam war backstory, I like the way the story is set in the 80s pre mobile phones rather than today. As in all thrillers you have to wait till the last chapter to fill in all the blanks.

Having seen the tv series Welliver’s voice made it even better

I had bought this book years ago, read by another actor. But after watching and loving the series I found the Mr Welliver’s familiar voice added another, delightful, dimension to the audiobook. I also enjoyed the discussion about making the series.
