Summary

From the #1 bestselling author of the Harry Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer series and who "is the master of the universe in which he lives" (Huffington Post), comes the gripping novel that inspired the film starring Clint Eastwood.

When Graciella Rivers steps onto his boat, ex-FBI agent Terrell McCaleb has no idea he's about to come out of retirement. He's recuperating from a heart transplant and avoiding anything stressful. But when Graciella tells him the way her sister, Gloria, was murdered, Terry realizes he has no choice. Now the man with the new heart vows to take down a predator without a soul. For Gloria's killer shatters every rule that McCaleb ever learned in his years with the Bureau-as McCaleb gets no more second chances at life...and just one shot at the truth.

Outstanding narration and story.

Having almost given up on Michael Connelly audiobooks, due to the tiresome narration of Titus Welliver, I'm back on track now due to the most amazing narration of Dick Hill.
The attention to detail like a real telephone voice on the other side of the phone, the range of emotions and particularly the various characters must surely make Dick Hill worthy of some sort of award for his storytelling.
Highly recommended.

Connelly at his best

I'm a long time fan of Connelly's Bosch series but it took me years to get round to this, I'm glad I finally did!

The narration is absolutely spot on, Dick Hill delivers on all levels.

The story is an absolute blast, with just enough twists to keep you really hooked without becoming tiresome to follow. The mystery is an interesting (if a little far fetched) concept and the payoff feels satisfying.

Pick it up if you are looking for a story that will have you guessing the whole way through, you won't regret it.

Little dated out a great yarn

Great pace well crafted exciting story. Not too graphic. Little dated techno wise eg the mouse was wired to the pc..
