Summary

Her eyes are wide open. Her lips parted as if to speak. Her dead body frozen in the ice...She is not the only one.

When a young boy discovers the body of a woman beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, Detective Erika Foster is called in to lead the murder investigation.

The victim, a beautiful young socialite, appeared to have the perfect life. Yet when Erika begins to dig deeper, she starts to connect the dots between the murder and the killings of three prostitutes, all found strangled, hands bound, and dumped in water around London.

What dark secrets is the girl in the ice hiding?

As Erika inches closer to uncovering the truth, the killer is closing in on Erika.

The last investigation Erika led went badly wrong...resulting in the death of her husband. With her career hanging by a thread, Erika must now battle her own personal demons as well as a killer more deadly than any she's faced before. But will she get to him before he strikes again?

A pause-resisting thriller packed with suspense. If you like Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott, and Karin Slaughter, discover Rob Bryndza's new series today.

It’s one of the books that you can’t put down

Very well written and narrated. First time in a long time a book has bought me tears I don’t want it to end. Hope the following ones are as good.

A bit clunky

Not a bad read but the writing and performance are a bit clunky in places. 'The Figure' was a bit old school and didn't really conjure the tension I think it was meant to. A little predictable but not awful and not a bad way to wile away the hours while walking the dog.

Simple plot but kept me interested

If you could sum up The Girl in the Ice in three words, what would they be?

Tried this book randomly. Lately I've read so many failing books I've been getting disheartened that there's anything left worth listening to. Whilst this wasn't edge of the seat drama it was an interesting enough plot to keep me reading until the end. Would I buy the follow on books.... to be honest not sure if you like a steady story that's not too predictable this is great. If you like edge of the seat drama with twists, turns and surprises this isn't for you.

What about Jan Cramer’s performance did you like?

Easy to listen to believable characters

Any additional comments?

May be a more interesting story as a tv drama

Left me guessing

I love to find a new series and this looks good but isn't quite there yet. The heroine is one I could get to like and the plot was ok but in the end it was much ado about nothing. But along the way there were many twists and turns and I didn't guess the ending. So I shall keep my eyes out for the second book in the series.

Pretty good, bit predictable and lacked realism sometimes.

Nicely read, good accents! It was a bit predictable though and some of the police stuff was not very plausible. The rest was pretty alright!

Mmmmm

It was ok. That's the best I can say really! Nothing v new or original and I got really fed up with Erika disobeying her senior officers on practically every page and getting away with it every time. Sorry but this Maverick cop going her own way and coming good against the odds is just a bit tired now.
