Summary
We were just kids when we met....
He was the boy from down the beach.
I was the transplant from Tennessee.
He became my best friend.
I became his best girl.
And then...it became us.
We shared things...our dreams, our secrets...first kisses and then our hearts.
Seth Drake was my everything. My first crush. My first love. My forever passion. Until that day when everything changed through no fault of ours.
I was crushed. We were crushed.

A highly emotive story for me
Please tell me Book 2 is happier... A good story, but hits some buttons for me, not many good sad to say. That is not to take away the author's skills, just left me sad.

Coming of Age
Crushed is an excellent name for this story. The pages in this story give you the details of all young Neely Evans has had to cope with from age fourteen to her present. Some good, some not so good, but life isn’t always a bowl of cherries. I am anxiously awaiting Claimed, will the young Seth Drake claim her, he sure wanted to before Neely’s sudden departure! Need to know where this young life is lead next in The Evermore series.
Rachelle Williams is the narrator that brought the characters in this story to life.
Thank you Andrea for gifting me this audible book for a fair and honest review.

Compelling story
This is a FANTASTIC start to what will be an Epic romance between Neely Evans and Seth Drake.
It starts from the beginning and they are teenagers Neely is 14 and Seth is 15,they become firm friends from the day they meet...When Neely moves to California with her parents.
But life in California does not go well for Neely's family when her parents marriage falls apart and her mother turns to alcohol to cope.
Although her relationship with Seth is moving forward and they become a boyfriend and girlfriend..Seth wants to be an actor like his mum and Neely wants to be an artist.
But eventually their relationship comes to an end when Neely goes back to Tennessee with her Mother.Their love is so sweet and innocent at first,Seth is Neely's lifeline in some ways.
I felt so bad for Neely dealing with her mother's alcoholism at such a young age,her mother is very controlling and manipulative with Neely and holds her back in life.
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook which is wonderfully narrated by Rachelle Williams and Alexander Cendese..who both portray these characters perfectly...they made listening to this book a pleasure and their voice acting skills were brilliant.
Andrea Smith has written a very compelling story of young love and the struggles of a young girl coping with her parents divorce, her mother's drinking problem and Seth's friendship that turns to love.
I loved Andrea's writing style and I easily became enthralled by Neely and Seth's story..this is a short book with plenty of drama and intrigue.
I can't wait to see what happens next I expect the angst will get turned up a notch.
Loved this Audiobook.
Excellent.

Book 1 so be ready for the next in line.
I loved this story. I have enjoyed everything I have listened to from Andrea Smith. You will want to be ready with the next book. There is not a huge cliffhanger but you definitely want to know the rest of the story. I love the main characters. I am anxious to find out the rest of their story. So far it is a sweet young love story. There is a lot of back in time and now story telling. I thought it was going to be tricky but it wasn’t when I got going with it. You just need to pay attention. Narration is great I love her southern accent. I recommend this book.

Short and sweet with a little bit of a cliffie
Oh my, what a wonderful coming of age drama following Neely Evans and Seth Drake through their teenage years. Four years of friendship and first love, as Neely struggles with her relationship with her parents, an abusive alcoholic mother and a father who is barely home. I loved Neely so much, she was sweet and loving, and my heart went out to her. The narration from Rachelle Williams had the perfect Southern twang I would expect from Neely. I can’t wait to find out what book 2 has in store for us. I need a full on romance for these two. Neely needs her happy ever after.

Coming of Age
Crushed by Andrea Smith is a coming of age story that I listened to on audio narrated by Rachelle Williams. This is book one in the Evermore Series and does end on a cliffhanger.
This is the first book of Andrea’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She did a great job putting you into the mind of a 15 year old Neely Evans. I cannot wait to dive into the second book of the series Claimed.
Rachelle did an amazing job on the narration. She made me believe in the 15 year old character from Tennessee. I loved that she used different voices/tones for each character. She really made the story come to life.

Ah I need more!
Oh this is such a great sweet storyline. It’s kind of heartbreaking that kids go through this on a daily basis but it’s a great storyline and likeable characters. Excellent narration.

Just wasn't feeling this book. It was narrated well but I found I was drifting and not really engaged

I felt crushed...
The start of the story of Neely an Seth... This first installment left me with a hurt heart.... Urghhh
I really rooted for Neely, her life really didn't pan out the way she hoped.
The narration was absolutely spot on. Rachelle Williams had a smooth, melodic tone that kept me captivated!

First love - great narration!
I really liked the beginning of Neely and Setha's story. I loved Neely, who is trying to find a way for herself after the separation of her parents. She has a crush on her childhood friend Seth, but it's not always easy.
The story about first love is beautifully written.
Rachelle Williams has brought the story to life with her pleasant voice and appropriate emotions. She did a fantastic job, as did Alexander Candese.
And now I really want to know what happens next with Neely and Seth!
