Summary
When life gives you lemons, squeeze them into a stiff drink and stir.
After 20 years defending the frozen north against some of the most dangerous threats in the nine kingdoms, Rhoren “Bloodbane” has finally earned his retirement. While the blood mage's service to the realm may have ended, burning veins and aching joints remain, and Rhoren soon learns that a warmer climate offers relief from his chronic pain.
And a chance at a fresh start.
In the warm and relaxing atmosphere of Eastborne, the umbral elf finds a new purpose and a sense of belonging. He may have left the frozen north behind, but he brings with him the skills and strength gained from a lifetime of defending the realm. Along with his most prized possession—a book of drink recipes inherited from his father.
Spilled cocktails may not carry the same weight as spilled blood, but opening a tavern brings a unique brand of challenges. With the right friends and a little bit of luck, he might just have a recipe for success.
Welcome to the enchanting world of Tales of Aedrea, where small-scale stories, low-stakes adventure, and cozy fantasy come to life within an epic, high-fantasy realm.

One of ace story that is just a nice steady enjoyable listen
I won code in a competition and so pleased I did, such a nice book, I had forfeited just how good S. L. Rolland’s books are and the narration was clear, smooth and had just the right variation in voices.
Spoilers!
Rhoren (Blood Bane) Reuters form the guard and after. Chance encountered with a cleric friend moves south to ease his constant pain. He finds a new purpose in EastBorne, buying a home and building a new business with help from his father’s cocktail recipes book and the bartender friend.

A heartwarming, delicious, cosy tale!
A perfect story for relaxing and snuggling up with a cup of tea, actually.... scrap the tea - you're going to want something far more exotic and with a twist. A really lovely tale with a cast of well described main characters. An interesting world built with detail and imagination. Definitely a great choice if you want something to soothe the soul with some interesting drinks along the way!

Heartwarming cozy story
The story is similar to Legends & Lattes and the narrator also sounds so similar that I had to check if they are the same person but no. A cozy story with some amazing cocktail recipes to even download later and enjoy by yourself which is a treat in itself. Narration was good!

Cosy Fantasy At Its Finest
This book was exactly what I needed. Enjoyable low stakes story with interesting and witty characters. It definitely made me want to whip out my own cocktail shaker for some experimentation! The narration is very well done with good timing and just the right amount of heart added into each character (I've found some narrators can go a bit over the top). Thoroughly enjoyed my time in Aedrea and I can't wait for more stories set in this world.

Nice and easy book
This is a nice slow book without too much action or complexity. It is perfect for a bedtime story or as background noise while working with other things.
The narration is easy going and the voices are pleasant and distinctive for each main character.

A cozy fantasy tale about finding new purpose in life and new friends
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light cozy fantasy read. Really nice story with some lovely characters, a tale of a grizzled recently retired soldier finding new purpose in life and making plenty of new friends, and maybe one who’s more than a friend, along the way.
