Summary
WARNING: This book contains graphic content that may upset sensitive listeners. Dateline: Leeds, England - Reports have flooded in about the dead returning to life and attacking the living. These reports are confirmed and all citizens are warned that there may not be any immediate help forthcoming.
When all order is stripped away, what direction will normal people take in the end? Shadiyah Kasim has witnessed a brutal attack on her sister, she seeks vengeance. Not on the dead that are wiping out humanity, but on the living that harmed her sister.
Simon Wood was about to start a life as a police officer. His sister died after what seemed like little more than a scratch inflicted by an attacker that she had dismissed as nothing more than a crazed scratter.
When the dead take over, two people are left to decide in what direction they will travel with what remains of their lives. Do the old definitions of good and evil still hold true?

Great snapshot
I do enjoy starting things so to have a number of snapshots of the beginning is really enjoyable, for this one it’s not too repetitive as it could have been and I like the various twists.
I think the author did a good job with the lingo and cultural references, although we don’t all say 'bloody' that much, many of us say much worse! But the little touches such as 'bog roll' and the use of the word 'mate' I really liked. There was one thing I couldn’t work out, we can drink out of the taps here! And there was no mention of systems breaking down or anything and they were all looking for bottled water all the time but other than that it was spot on. I was hoping for slightly better accents following the ear trauma of the British accents from the main Dead series and I'd love to see better representation of the variety of British accents (most of us were not born with a plum in our mouth!) and I was excited that this was a way to do it but TW read it himself, I assume for budget reasons and did a good job with it.
Nice to see a female lead and not as you would expect (won’t say more to avoid spoilers).
Looking forward to more.

Not good!
The author of this had good intentions but as somebody from Leeds I couldn't get past the fact that although supposidly set in Leeds, it was in name only. I couldn't finish it!
Why not set the story in Leeds and have the main characters American visitors - that way you wouldn't need to know for example, English people have flat's not apartments and you could get away with not understanding how British people speak or our intrinsic culture.
If you really want to set a story in a country/city you that isn't one you're familiar with do some homework!
I appreciate that you want to please people and feel accessible to your public but your not working for free - we're still paying for your product so please think about this when your so your next novel.
