Summary
Dare to Care: A Guide to Caring for Aging Parents and Loved Ones at Home. The challenges and experiences of in-home caregiving
Dare to Care is a personal reflection of the love and care that is offered by carers for love, honor, and duty. It tells the life stories of the author and nine others in caring for a loved one at home and the profound affection they had for each other. This is one story about home caregiving that is very relevant and much needed in times of pandemic and non-pandemic. Many families and homes all over the world can relate to the author’s personal experience in caregiving. Dare to Care is a most beautiful, heartening, and touching story—a one-of-a-kind story worth re-telling and learning from.
The book is written in two parts: Part I is about the challenges and experiences faced by the author in looking after her centenarian mother-in-law in the last few years of her life and the very special bond that was formed. Believing how her experience as a caregiver had changed her profoundly for the better, she decided to share the story of this unique and special period in her life. Part II is a collection of loving stories by nine other caregivers whose lives were also touched and makes the book a fascinating read. Together, the book gives an insight into various aspects of caregiving, both physical and psychological.
The listeners will be uplifted by the loving devotion to the details of care, required of caregivers. As their moving stories unfold, in caring for someone who would become almost—if not completely—dependent on the carer, surprisingly, it is the giver who benefits the most!

very insightful!
This book provided me a lot to think about when it comes to taking care of my own elderly parents. It's not going to be easy, but it will undoubtedly be worthwhile. We can all show compassion, even in the tiniest of ways, and I'm pleased I found this book and learned some practical advice from it. Definitely suggest purchasing this book!

Although the narration left me a bit off-put, the information in this book is invaluable. It goes through all the pains and offers tried, and true techniques to help deal with situations you may encounter while caring for an aging loved one at home. The tools and experience that the author gives the listener are sure to help anyone who has aging parents or grandparents that need assistance to continue being productive and fulfilled in their lives.

Great Experience
This is a fantastic book I enjoyed from the very beginning to end. I also highly recommend it to anyone. In this busy world, we don’t have much to spend, especially with those we love the most, and in this book, I found myself!

Relatable. Inspiring.
Reading stories emphasising the value of elderly parents in a culture that increasingly devalues the elderly was heartening.
This book offers different perspectives on the physical and mental aspects of caregiving. In the first part of the book, readers get a glimpse into the author's experiences caring for her mother during her last years and the deep bond that developed between them during that time. Another nine caregivers share their personal stories in the book's second part. A positive impact was made on their lives through this experience.
A wealth of information is provided in this book to help caregivers implement a strategy for providing in-home care for a sick relative, including insight into ageing and genuine empathy.
Those facing the gradual loss of a loved one will surely find the book valuable.

Interesting and informative!
I like the stories and I learned a lot about caregiving I did not know before. I like that it does not only talks about what practical things to do, but also the mental aspect of caring for a parent. It is such an important job, yet can be challanging mentally.
I think this is something that most people can or will relate to at some point, on wich point could greatly benefit from this book.
Higly reccomend!

Great resource to care for loved one in your home
What makes this audiobook unique is that it not only tells the author’s story of providing care to her dear mother-in-law Edith, it also presents the stories of nine others who have brought their loved ones into their home to care for them too. With that many perspectives, you are bound to find many elements you can relate to and gather tons of useful information from their collective experience. You can feel that this work of non-fiction was lovingly written, and the author provides thoughtful and practical guidance throughout this heart-warming and uplifting story.
