Summary

One Master survived the inferno that destroyed the Order of the Illuminati. He may know that I survived, but does he suspect that I betrayed the Order?

Rudolf Heine has sent Hunters flooding into Westport, wreaking carnage on vampires, shifters, and mages. Normal humans are taking notice, and the shadow world teeters on the verge of being revealed.

The Hunters also may be hunting me. Do I stay and fight for my new life and my friends, or run again?

Contains mature themes.

Great book

I have enjoyed listening to the first three books twice I am now off to purchase the next book which was not released when I first bought the books.
definitely worth trying out the first book in the series if you like action and a story of a lone girl trying to find her way in the world after finding out she was an assassin for the wrong side, finding her way to a small town in a magic spelled bar and building relationships with people that she has never had before.

Erin is a star

The characters and plot have really grown on me . I enjoyed the story and there are some really great fight scenes which allow the imagination to soar . My favourite characters are of course , Erin, Sam and Lizzy . Great ending I actually wasn’t breathing when she met Master Rudolph ?!

Review of books 1-3

Book 1 started well enough (the Illuminati was the premier 'assassin gang' and fl was one of their top operators) and I downloaded book 2. It was ok but not as 'good' as the first book.
Book 3 was almost a non story - limp, mundane. Downloaded it hoping storyline would pick up, but no. Showdown between fl and her main enemy - the most deadly swordsman (and powerful earth mage) in the world lasted all of 3 minutes, if that. Grateful citizens give her a scholarship to go back to school to study architecture. Finis … though I see there is a book 4.
Would maybe suit a not demanding teen or young adult audience at best.
